Why Are You Really Here?
(Not available to a romanced PC)
PC: There must be some reason you haven’t left. You can’t want to stay.
Dorian: Why? I have to be fond of you to agree with what you’re doing? I do think you blunder about, Inquisitor, thrashing like a caged dragon at everything that displeases you. I still think Corypheus needs to be stopped, and that I need to be here to help stop him.
Dialogue options:
- General: Why is it so important? [1]
- General: You think you can help? [2]
- General: I don’t need your help. [3] -Dorian disapproves
1 - General: Why is it so important? PC: Why is that so vital to you? There must be a reason. Dorian: I’m just whimsical that way! Of course there’s a reason. [4]
2 - General: You think you can help? PC: Oh? You think you’d be such an immense help against Corypheus? Dorian: If you’d let me, yes. I have every reason to put my life on the like here. [4]
3 - General: I don’t need your help. PC: I don’t want your help. I don’t need it. Dorian: At the moment. That could change. [4]
4 - Scene continues.
Dorian: Corypheus is—was—a magister. He represents everything dark and terrible in my country. I have to help. Even if it means I stand on the sidelines, watching, I’ll do it. I need to know he’s defeated. If that’s meaningless to you, then tell me to go and I will.
Dialogue options:
- I want you to leave. (Dorian will leave the Inquisition for good.) [5]
- Stay with us. [6]
5 - I want you to leave. PC: Fine. I want you to go. Dorian: Right. I can’t say I’m surprised. Give Corypheus my regards. I’m sure he’ll be a handful for you. Dorian leaves the Inquisition.
6 - Stay with us. PC: No. I’m not asking you to leave. Dorian: Excellent. Then let’s not belabor it further. Scene ends.
