Demands of the Qun

Letter From the Ben-Hassrath
Bull and Krem are sparring.
Iron Bull: Ah, come on, Krem! I’m working my ass off trying to get you to see that move!
Krem: You’ve still got plenty of ass left, chief. Uh, Your Worship.
The PC walks up.
Iron Bull: Glad you came by. I got a letter from my contacts in the Ben-Hassrath. Already verified it with Red.
1 - Dialogue options:
- Investigate: Should this be private? [2]
- General: What’s in the letter? [3]
- General: You’re supposed to just watch. [4]
- General: I’m not happy about this. [5]
2 - Investigate: Should this be private? PC: Do you want to discuss this alone? Iron Bull: Not like I was hiding it from my boys. Besides, right now, I need to hit something. Krem: (Pants.) You know they’ve got training dummies, chief. Iron Bull: The training dummy might actually defend itself against the shield bash. Anyway, the Ben-Hassrath letter… [back to 1]
3 - General: What’s in the letter? PC: What did the letter say? [6]
4 - General: You’re supposed to just watch. PC: I was under the impression that you were just sending reports. Iron Bull: Yeah, so was I. [6]
5 - General: I’m not happy about this. PC: I was willing to let you send reports. If the Qunari are making demands… Iron Bull: Just hear it out, boss. [6]
6 - Scene continues.
Iron Bull: The Ben-Hassrath have been reading my reports. They don’t like Corypheus or his Venatori. And they really don’t like red lyrium. They’re ready to work with us. With you, boss. The Qunari and the Inquisition, joining forces.
Dialogue options:
- General: I don’t trust them. [7] +Iron Bull slightly approves
- General: I’m interested. [8] +Iron Bull slightly approves
- General: This doesn’t interest me. [9] -Iron Bull slightly disapproves
7 - General: I don’t trust them. PC: That would be an unprecedented offer, if I believed it was legitimate. Which I don’t. Iron Bull: Now, ordinarily that would be the way to go. But they’ve identified themselves. They’re not running a game on you. [10]
8 - General: I’m interested. PC: That could be a powerful alliance. Iron Bull: My people have never made a full-blown alliance with a foreign power before. This would be a big step. [10]
9 - General: This doesn’t interest me. PC: I have little interest in dealing with the Qunari. Iron Bull: I can understand that. Might be worth hearing ‘em out, though. [10]
10 - Scene continues.
Iron Bull: They’ve found a massive red lyrium shipping operation out on the coast.
Bull and Krem take up fighting stances again.
Krem: They want us to hit it together. Talked about bringing in one of their dreadnoughts. Always wanted to see one of those big warships in action.
They bash shields.
Iron Bull: Did you see that? Go get some water.
Krem leaves.
Iron Bull: They’re worried about tipping the smugglers, so no army. My Chargers, you, maybe some backup.
11 - Dialogue options:
- Investigate: What are they offering? [12]
- Investigate: Something wrong? [13]
- General: I’ll do it. [14] +Iron Bull approves
- General: I don’t trust Qunari. [15] -Iron Bull disapproves
12 - Investigate: What are they offering? PC: What does this alliance really get us? Iron Bull: They wouldn’t use the word “alliance” if they didn’t mean it. Naval power. More Ben-Hassrath reports. Qunari soldiers pointed at the Venatori… It could do a lot of good. [back to 11]
13 - Investigate: Something wrong? PC: You don’t seem entirely happy about this. Iron Bull: No, I’m good. It’s, uh… I’m used to them being over there. It’s been awhile.
Dialogue options:
Special: You don’t want them to spread? [16] [Back to 11]
16 - Special: You don’t want them to spread? PC: I thought Qunari wanted to extend their reach to the whole world. Iron Bull: Yeah. Just didn’t think I’d see it. Look, the Qun answers a lot of questions. It’s a good life for a lot of people. But it’s a big change. And a lot of folks here wouldn’t do so well under that kind of life. I guess it’s not like we’re converting. This is just us joining forces against Corypheus. On that front, I think we’re good. [back to 11]
14 - General: I’ll do it. PC: I think the Inquisition could use some help from the Qunari. Iron Bull: Good. I’ll pass on word to Cullen and Red. We can set up the meeting whenever you’re ready.
15 - General: I don’t trust Qunari. PC: There’s too much risk here, and I won’t stick my neck out for the Qunari. Iron Bull: Your call, boss. It feels weird to me, too… but I don’t think they’d lie about this. If you change your mind, I marked the meeting point in the war room.
Qunari Contact
The PC and Bull arrive on the Storm Coast.
Iron Bull: All right, our Qunari contact should be here to meet us.
Gatt: He is.
And elf walks up.
Gatt: Good to see you again, Hissrad.
Iron Bull: Gatt! Last I heard, you were still in Seheron!
Gatt: They finally decided I’d calmed down enough to go back into the world.
Iron Bull: Boss, this is Gatt. We worked together in Seheron.
Gatt: It’s a pleasure to meet you, Inquisitor. Hissrad’s reports say you’re doing good work.
1 - Dialogue options:
- Investigate: Bull is Hissrad? [2]
- General: Pleased to meet you. [3]
- General: I’m thrilled. [4]
- General: We have a common enemy. [5]
2 - Investigate: Bull is Hissrad? PC: Iron Bull’s name is Hissrad? Gatt: Under the Qun, we use titles, not names. Iron Bull: My title was “Hissrad,” because I was assigned to secret work. You can translate it as “Keeper of Illusions,” or… Gatt: “Liar.” It means liar. Iron Bull: Well, you don’t have to say it like that. [back to 1]
3 - General: Pleased to meet you. PC: I look forward to working together. Gatt: Hopefully this will help both our peoples. Tevinter is dangerous enough without the influence of this Venatori cult. [6]
4 - General: I’m thrilled. PC: It’s so nice to hear friends say good things about me in their secret spy reports. Gatt: He does… but they aren’t really secret, are they? Iron Bull: Look, Gatt— Gatt: Relax. Unlike our superiors, I know how it works out here. We’re in this together. The Tevinter Imperium is bad enough without the influence of this Venatori cult. [6]
5 - General: We have a common enemy. PC: I’m only here because we both want to stop Corypheus. Gatt: Indeed. The Tevinter Imperium is bad enough without the interference of this Venatori cult. [6]
6 - Scene continues.
Dorian not in party Gatt: If this new form of lyrium helps them seize power in Tevinter, the war with Qunandar could get worse. [11]
Dorian in party Dorian: Yes. Filthy, decadent brutes, the lot of them. I’m certain life would be much better for all of us under the Qun.
Gatt: It was for me, after the Qunari rescued me from slavery in Tevinter. I was eight. The Qun isn’t perfect, but it gave me a better life.
Dorian: Yes, one free from all that pointless free will and independent thought. Such an improvement.
Dialogue options:
- General: Tevinter’s worse. [7]
- General: You’re right, Dorian. [8]
- General: Neither side is perfect. [9]
- General: Let’s focus on the mission. [10]
7 - General: Tevinter’s worse. PC: I’ll take the discipline of the Qunari over the corruption of Tevinter any day of the week. Dorian: Let’s hope you never have to actually make that choice. Gatt: I’m not here to convert anyone. All I care about is stopping this red lyrium from reaching Minrathous. [11]
8 - General: You’re right, Dorian. PC: For all of Tevinter’s problems, at least they acknowledge that people are people. Gatt: Unless they’re slaves. Iron Bull: Gatt, is this really the time? Gatt: I’m not here to convert anyone. All I care about is stopping this red lyrium from reaching Minrathous. [11]
9 - General: Neither side is perfect. PC: The Imperium and the Qunari both have their problems. Dorian: Fair enough, I suppose. Gatt: I’m not here to convert anyone. All I care about is stopping this red lyrium from reaching Minrathous. [11]
10 - General: Let’s focus on the mission. PC: Arguing about the war between your two nations isn’t going to help anyone right now. Gatt: I’m not here to convert anyone. All I care about is stopping this red lyrium from reaching Minrathous. [11]
11 - Scene continues.
Iron Bull: With this stuff, the Vints could make their slaves into an army of magical freaks. We could lose Seheron… and see a giant Tevinter army come marching back down here.
Gatt: The Ben-Hassrath agree. That’s why we’re here. Our dreadnought is safely out of view, and out of range of any Venatori mages on shore. We’ll need to eliminate the Venatori, then signal the dreadnought so it can come in and take out the smuggler ship.
12 - Dialogue options:
- Special: Bull, does this work for you? [13]
- Investigate: What if the ship has mages? [14]
- Investigate: Why not attack at sea? [15]
- Investigate: Why use a small force? [16]
- General: I’m ready. [17]
13 - Special: Bull, does this work for you? PC: What do you think, Bull? Iron Bull: Don’t know. I’ve never liked covering a dreadnought run. Too many ways for crap to go wrong. If our scouts underestimate enemy numbers, we’re dead. If we can’t lock down the Venatori mages, the ship is dead. It’s risky. Gatt: Riskier than letting red lyrium into Minrathous? [back to 12]
14 - Investigate: What if the ship has mages? PC: There might be Venatori mages on the ship as well. If the dreadnought can’t handle them… Gatt: It’s unlikely there’ll be more than two or three mages on the ship. And they’ll be dead by the third shot. On land, though, a half-dozen Venatori attacking the dreadnought from cover could do some serious damage. [back to 12]
15 - Investigate: Why not attack at sea? PC: If it’s dangerous for the dreadnought close to shore, why not attack when the smugglers reach open water? Gatt: Any decent smuggling ship can outrun a dreadnought on open water. We need to catch them close to shore. [back to 12]
16 - Investigate: Why use a small force? PC: I could have crushed any Venatori resistance with the Inquisition’s main forces. Why not use them? Gatt: Because then the Venatori would have seen you coming and run. They’d schedule a new shipment for later, and our spies might not know when or where. This is risky, yes, but it’s our best chance to destroy the shipping operation permanently. [back to 12]
17 - General: I’m ready. PC: Let’s go hold up our end of this bargain, then. Gatt: My agents suggested two possible locations the Venatori may be camped to guard the shore. There… and there. Gatt: We’ll need to split up and hit both at once. Iron Bull: I’ll come with you, boss. Krem can lead the Chargers. Let me fill him in. Come by when you’re ready to move. Scene ends.
Gatt
Gat: Just waiting on you and Hissrad—or “Iron Bull,” I guess.
1 - Dialogue options:
- Investigate: You knew Iron Bull? [2]
- Investigate: How will an alliance help me? [3]
- Investigate: How did you end up here? [4]
- Investigate: I’d like to discuss the Qun. [5]
- General: We’ll move shortly. [6]
2 - Investigate: You knew Iron Bull? PC: You knew Iron Bull when he fought in Seheron? Gatt: Yes. He led the group that freed me. I was a magister’s slave, and when the magister went to Seheron, he brought me along. For company. Iron Bull and his men attacked my magister’s ship and killed him, as well as his soldiers. Bull set me free.
Dialogue options:
- Special: And then you joined the Qun? [7]
- [Back to 1]
7 - Special: And then you joined the Qun? PC: And you decided to start following the Qun after that? Gatt: What do you think? I had just watched a giant, horned warrior kill the magister who hurt me. PC: He never told me about this. Gatt: One on the few things he hasn’t shared with you, I gather. Sure, Bull. Share the secret Ben-Hassrath reports, but keep that bit where you saved the elf boy to yourself. [8]
3 - Investigate: How will an alliance help me? PC: No one’s actually detailed how an alliance with the Qunari will help the Inquisition. Gatt: The answer is above my rank… but the Qunari don’t really bargain. They don’t know how. I doubt you want Qunari troops stomping around your stronghold, and you’re too far away for supplies to be useful. You’d get more use out of our ships… and the agents we’ve got spread across Thedas. We know a lot more than what Bull sees in those reports he’s been forwarding to your spymaster. [8]
8 - Dialogue options:
- Special: Is Bull in trouble? [9]
- [Back to 1]
9 - Special: Is Bull in trouble? PC: Is Bull going to get in trouble for passing those reports on? Gatt: The Ben-Hassrath aren’t pleased with how forthcoming Bull has been… but he was one of their best agents. He kept the streets clean in Seheron longer than anyone before him, or after. He fought until it nearly killed him. The Ben-Hassrath trust him enough to accept how he joined the Inquisition, even if they don’t like it. Besides, they hate to discard a tool that might still have some use left in it. That’s why I have a job. [14]
4 - Investigate: How did you end up here? PC: How did an elf end up working for the Qunari out here? Gatt: The Ben-Hassrath usually pick elves or humans to work outside of Qunandar. We’re a little harder to spot. I’ve worked in Orlais and Nevarra, but only a few years now.
Dialogue options:
- Special: And before that? [10]
- [Back to 1]
10 - Special: And before that? PC: What did you do before that? Gatt: When I was old enough, I fought Tevinter forces in Seheron. I was too angry to do much else. It took me a long time to accept the Qun, to get past justice, to purpose. Some days are still difficult. [14]
5 - Investigate: I’d like to discuss the Qun. PC: Do you have a minute to talk about to Qun? Gatt: I’m a spy, Inquisitor, not a teacher. I’m not interested in converting anyone or debating the philosophy. But I suppose it would make an interesting report to hear the Inquisitor’s opinion on the Qun.
Dialogue options:
- General: It’s alien to me. [11]
- General: I detest the Qun. [12]
- General: I admire the Qun. [13]
11 - General: It’s alien to me. PC: To be honest, I don’t really understand the Qun enough to judge it. Gatt: I think you have to be raised under the Qun for it to ever make sense. The people who join as adults end up unhappy, or, well… For many, it’s just a kinder form of slavery. [14]
12 - General: I detest the Qun. PC: Tell them that the Inquisitor thinks the Qun is loathsome and disgusting. Gatt: you must really want our ships, then. I understand your viewpoint, for what it’s worth. Out in this world, the Qun sound terrible. A way of life, the simplicity, the fairness of it, is something I cherish. The lack of identity though… I’ve struggled with it myself. [14]
13 - General: I admire the Qun. PC: I think the Qun’s philosophy is fascinating. We could learn a lot from the Qunari. Gatt: It’s a very different way of life. It’s… fair, at least. That’s not something you can say out in this world very often. I like the simplicity. I like knowing my place and knowing it’s the right place. Other parts, I’ve struggled with myself. [14]
14 - Dialogue options:
- Special: You had trouble with the Qun? [15]
- [Back to 1]
13 - Special: You had trouble with the Qun? PC: It sounds like following the Qun hasn’t always been easy. Gatt: I had a temper. Bull’s nickname for me, “Gatt,” comes from gaatlok, the explosive powder in Qunari canons. I was so angry when I was first freed. I wanted revenge. I wanted to find my family, still enslaved in Minrathous. I thought about leaving when the Qun didn’t tell me what I wanted to hear. But I didn’t. PC: Why not? Gatt: The Qunari were always ready to listen, to teach. They cared for me as much as one of their own. And if I leave, the parts of the Qun that I like are never going to change.
6 - General: We’ll move shortly. PC: I’ll let you know when we’re ready. Gatt: I await your pleasure, Inquisitor.
Plan of Attack
The PC approaches where Bull is speaking to his men.
Iron Bull: Once they’re down, send up your signal. That’ll let the dreadnought know it’s safe to come in.
Krem: Understood, chief.
Iron Bull: Remember, you’re gonna want a volley to start, but don’t get suckered into fighting at range They’ve got mages.
Krem: It’s all right. We’ve got a mage of our own.
Dalish: I’m not a mage!
Iron Bull: Get in close and take their enchanter down before he takes over the battlefield.
Skinner: He’ll be dead before he knows it.
Iron Bull: Just… pay attention, all right? The Vints want this red lyrium shipment bad.
Krem: Yes, I know. Thanks, Mother.
Iron Bull: Qunari don’t have mothers, remember?
Krem: We’ll be fine, chief.
Iron Bull: All right, Chargers! Horns up!
Krem: Horns up!
The PC walks up.
Iron Bull: Ready whenever you are, boss.
PC: I’m ready to head out, Bull.
Iron Bull: Right. Chargers! Hit ’em hard and hit ’em fast! When this is over, drinks are on me!
Krem: You got it, chief! Chargers, double-time! Let’s move!
The Chnagers head off, and the PC’s party heads up the hill.
Gatt: You gave your Chargers the easier target. Iron Bull: You think?
Gatt: Lower and father down from the smugglers’ ship? It’s much less likely to be heavily defended.
Iron Bull: Suppose we’ll do the heavy lifting then. Just like old times.
Gatt: (Chuckles.)
They continue on.
Gatt: Be careful. My agents said to expect opposition ahead of the main charge.
Iron Bull: We’ve all done this a few times, Gatt.
Gatt: You’ve been living outside the Qun for years now, Iron Bull. Just wanted to make sure your reflexes hadn’t gotten as soft as the rest of you.
Iron Bull: Ouch.
If Solas is in the party Gatt: I don’t see any tattoos, but you’re carrying a staff. Are you from a Chantry Circle?
Solas: No. And I would prefer not to discuss it.
Gatt: Have I done something to offend you?
Solas: You joined the Qun.
Gatt: After they rescued me from slavery.
Solas: And put you into something worse. A slave may always struggle for freedom. But you among the Qun have been taught not to think.
Iron Bull: Solas, not the time.
If Cole is in the party Gatt: Iron Bull’s reports say you’re a demon.
Cole made more spirit Cole: Heart hammering, brush of breath at the base of my back. He licks his thumb before turning the page. He never finished. You don’t have a demon inside of you. You don’t have to wonder anymore. Gatt: Stop. Just… stop. Iron Bull: Cole, knock it off. People who follow the Qun get nervous around demons, remember?
Cole made more human/personal quest incomplete Cole: I’m trying not to be. Sometimes it’s hard. I want to kill a lot of people, but I don’t. Gatt: Because the Inquisitor has bound you? Cole: Because it’s not right.
Gatt: Bull, how can you work with a demon? Iron Bull: He’s all right.
If Dorian is in the party Gatt: You must wish you were back in Tevinter, mage. No soldiers to guard you here, no slaves to wait on you.
Dorian: It’s the lack of fashion that really strikes fear into my heart.
Gatt: You know nothing of fear.
Dorian: And do you intend to teach me?
Gatt: No. You serve the Inquisition, and the Ben-Hassrath wish an alliance. For now, that is enough.
If Vivienne is in the party Gatt: Now that the Circles have fallen, it must please you to wield your power so freely, mage.
Vivienne: Quite the reverse. Mages are dangerous, and their power makes them feared. The Circles protected us.
Gatt: You almost sound reasonable.
If Sera is in the party Gatt: You’re not Dalish. Were you confined to an alienage as a child?
Sera: Not for bloody long.
Gatt: You might be interested to know that Qunandar treats our kind far better than Ferelden or Orlais.
Sera: Not interested in how you want to treat me.
Gatt: Perhaps another time, then.
The party approaches some Tevinter forces.
Bull: Vints up ahead! Gatt: Don’t let them warn the others!
Gatt: Get ready. We’re close.
The PC clears out the camp.
Gatt: Can you make out any of your mercenaries down there?
Iron Bull: Not from here. Probably a better view once we take the Vints’ camp.
Gatt: Worried?
Iron Bull: They’re my men. I’ve been with some of them for years.
A Choice
The party walks up to the cliffside.
Iron Bull: We’re clear, Gatt.
Gatt: Right. Signalling the dreadnought.
Gatt sets off a flare.
Iron Bull: Chargers already sent theirs up. See ’em down there?
The Chargers are on a far-away cliff.
Gatt: I knew you gave them the easier job.
Iron Bull: There’s the dreadnought. That brings back memories.
The dreadnought launches cannons at the opposing ship.
Iron Bull: (Laughs.) Nice one!
Iron Bull: Crap.
Venatori begin to make their way towards the Chargers.
Dialogue options:
- General: They can retreat. [1]
- General: Look at them all. [2]
- General: They’ll be killed. [3]
1 - General: They can retreat. PC: They’ve still got time to fall back if you signal them now. Iron Bull: Yeah. [4]
2 - General: Look at them all. PC: There are quite a few of them. Iron Bull: Yeah. [4]
3 - General: They’ll be killed. PC: The Chargers can’t stand against that kind of force. Iron Bull: No, they can’t. [4]
4 - Scene continues.
Gatt: Your men need to hold that position, Bull.
Iron Bull: They do that, they’re dead.
Gatt: And if they don’t, the Venatori retake it and the dreadnought is dead. You’d be throwing away an alliance between the Inquisition and the Qunari! You’d be declaring yourself Tal-Vashoth!
Bull scowls at him.
Gatt: With all you’ve given the Inquisition, half the Ben-Hassrath think you’ve betrayed us already! I stood up for you, Hissrad! I told them you would never become Tal-Vashoth!
Iron Bull: They’re my men.
Gatt: I know. But you need to do what’s right, Hissrad… for this alliance, and for the Qun.
Dialogue options:
- Save your men. (The dreadnought will be sacrificed.) [5]
- Save the dreadnought. (Bull’s men will be left to die.) [6]
5 - Save your men. PC: Call the retreat. Gatt: Don’t! Bull blows his horn, and the Chargers walk off. Iron Bull: They’re falling back. Gatt: All these years, Hissrad, and you throw away all that you are. For what? For this? For them?
Dialogue options:
- General: I’m sorry, Gatt. [7]
- General: Gatt, we can salvage this. [8] -Iron Bull slightly disapproves
- General: Don’t call him Hissrad. [9] +Iron Bull slightly approves
7 - General: I’m sorry, Gatt. PC; I regret that we couldn’t protect the dreadnought. Gatt: So do I. [10]
8 - General: Gatt, we can salvage this. PC: We can make this up to your people. Gatt: No, you can’t. [10]
9 - General: Don’t call him Hissrad. PC: His name is Iron Bull. Gatt: I suppose it is. [10]
10 - Scene continues.
Gatt walks away. Venatori prepare to attack.
Iron Bull: No way they’ll get out of range. Won’t be long now.
*fire flies towards the ship.
PC: Bull, when the dreadnought sinks…
Iron Bull: Sinks? Qunari dreadnoughts don’t sink.
The dreadnought explodes.
Iron Bull: Come on. Let’s get back to my boys. Scene ends.
6 - Save the dreadnought. PC: We need to hold that hill at all costs. Iron Bull: (Sighs.) Yeah.
Dialogue options:
- General: I’m sorry. [11]
- General: Look away, Bull. [12] -Iron Bull slightly disapproves
- General: Can they do it? [13] +Iron Bull slightly approves
11 - General: I’m sorry. PC: Your soldiers are giving their lives for a good cause, Bull. Iron Bull: No. We’re doing it for a good cause. Gaining an alliance, strengthening the Inquisition, something. The Chargers don’t care about any of that crap. They’re giving their lives for me. [14]
12 - General: Look away, Bull. PC: Come on, Bull. You don’t need to stand here and watch. Iron Bull: Yes, I do. [14]
13 - General: Can they do it? PC: Will the Chargers hold long enough? Iron Bull: Yeah. They’ll get it done. [14]
14 - Scene continues.
Gatt: Hissrad… I’m sorry. I know that wasn’t easy.
Iron Bull: Doesn’t matter. The Qun demanded it.
The Chargers fall.
Iron Bull: Dreadnought’s clear. Let’s get out of here. Scene ends.
Tal-Vashoth
(Saved the Chargers)
The PC approaches Bull at Skyhold.
Iron Bull: Hey, boss.
Gatt appears from behind them.
Gatt: Inquisitor, it is my duty to inform you that there will be no alliance between our peoples. Nor will you be receiving any more Ben-Hassrath reports from your Tal-Vashoth ally.
Iron Bull: You under orders to kill me, Gatt?
Gatt: No. The Ben-Hassrath have already lost one good man. They’d rather not lose two.
Gatt leaves.
Iron Bull: So much for that.
Dialogue options:
- Underworld: We can minimize losses. [1] +Iron Bull approves
- General: You did the right thing. [2] +Iron Bull slightly approves
- General: I’m sorry. [3] -Iron Bull slightly disapproves
- General: How are you feeling? [4] -Iron Bull slightly disapproves
1 - Underworld: We can minimize losses. PC: The loss of the Ben-Hassrath information will hurt. Can we smoke out some of your old contacts? Iron Bull: They’ll pull their people soon enough, but we might be able to identify the agents who replace them.
2 - General: You did the right thing. PC: I’m proud of you, Bull. Iron Bull: (Chuckles.) Thanks, boss. [5]
3 - General: I’m sorry. PC: I never meant to turn you against your people, Bull. Iron Bull: I’m the one who blew the horn. PC: On my orders. Iron Bull: Boss… let me have this one, all right? This one needs to be mine. [5]
4 - General: How are you feeling? PC: You all right, Bull? Iron Bull: Yeah. Guess I’ll have more free time without having to write all those reports. PC: Bull… Iron Bull: Boss… let me have this one, all right? This one needs to be mine. [5]
5 - Scene continues.
Krem joins them.
Iron Bull: You’re late.
Krem: Sorry, chief. Still sore from fighting off all those Vints. Good to see you, Inquisitor.
Dialogue options:
- General: How are the Chargers? [6]
- General: Glad you survived. [7]
- General: Good work. [8]
6 - General: How are the Chargers? PC: How did the Chargers come out of the fight? Krem: Just fine. Thanks to you and the chief, we had plenty of time to fall back. [9]
7 - General: Glad you survived. PC: That fight against the Venatori was a bit dicey. Krem: We knew that you and the chief had our backs, Your Worship. [9]
8 - General: Good work. PC: Nice work taking down those Venatori. Krem: Always easy with the chief watching our backs, Your Worship. [9]
9 - Scene continues.
Krem: Chief’s even breaking open a cask of Chasind Sack Mead for the Chargers tonight.
Iron Bull: Damn it, Krem, that’s the kind of thing you don’t have to mention to the Inquisitor.
Krem: Sorry, chief.
They get ready to spar again, and they bash shields.
Iron Bull: Ah, forget it. You’re doing fine.
Alliance
(Sacrificed the Chargers)
The PC approaches Bull at Skyhold.
Iron Bull: Hey, boss.
Gatt appears from behind them.
Gatt: Inquisitor, my superiors have named you basalit-an. It means “respected one.” We would be honoured to join you in the fight against Corypheus. You’ll have Qunari support on the seas, as well as our full intelligence network.
Dialogue options:
- General: Thank you, Gatt. [1]
- General: Is that good, Bull? [2]
- General: It better help. [3]
1 - General: Thank you, Gatt. PC: I look forward to working with your people. Gatt: The feeling is mutual. [4]
2 - General: Is that good, Bull? PC: Is that about what we were hoping for? Iron Bull: Yeah, it’s good. [4]
3 - General: It better help. PC: We paid dearly for that support, it better be worth it. Gatt: You won’t be disappointed, Inquisitor. [4]
4 - Scene continues.
Gatt: Hissrad… marasas shokra.
Iron Bull: Panahedan, Gatt.
Gatt leaves.
Iron Bull: A Qunari alliance. That’s a first.
Dialogue options:

5 - Underworld: We’ll make good use of it. PC: Our more trusted agents can network with the Ben-Hassrath. Iron Bull: Better than having both sides step on each other’s toes. I’ll pass word to Red. [9]
6 - General: I’m sorry about your men. PC: I had no idea it would cost you the Chargers, Bull. I’m sorry. Iron Bull: It was always a risk. [9]
7 - General: What does this mean for you? PC: So, what about you, Bull? Are you going back to the Ben-Hassrath? Iron Bull: I never left. [9]
8 - General: Go take some time. PC: We’ll speak more later. Iron Bull: Sounds good. [9]
9 - Scene continues.
Iron Bull: Have a good one.
Bull stabs a nearby training dummy in frustration.
Investigate: How’s Our Qunari Alliance?
If Bull sacrificed the Chargers in Demands of the Qun
PC: How are we doing with the Ben-Hassrath?
First time asking Iron Bull: It’s going well. Red’s coordinating information drops. And with our naval power, we’ve put a stranglehold on any Venatori movement by sea. This is shaping up to be very helpful for the Inquisition.
Post-HLtA Iron Bull: I was hoping we could get gaatlok for the siege at Adamant. Imagine Qunari cannons against those walls. It never came through. Gaatlok’s no good if you don’t have guys who know how to use it.
Iron Bull (allied Wardens): The Ben-Hassrath are working with the Wardens to put down any demons in northern Orlais. It’s hard, ugly work, but the Wardens are good for it. And the Ben-Hassrath love having people to kill demons for ’em. Iron Bull (exiled Wardens): The Ben-Hassrath are taking out any Wardens who don’t leave Orlais. No point in leaving them to get controlled by Corypheus, or whatever he does
Post-WEWH Iron Bull: We’re coordinating with the Orlesian military. A lot easier with that crap at Halamshiral done. The Venatori are still considered a cult in Tevinter. Even the Vints think these guys are crazy. If Qunari forces maneuver right, we’re hoping to get the Vints fighting the Venatori. That should buy Orlais some time to get its shit together and push from the south.
Post-WPHW Iron Bull: Ben-Hassrath agents did as much as they could to hamstring the Venatori forces. Didn’t stop Corypheus or his army, but it slowed ’em down some. They’re shaken up, finding out that the crazy bastard can jump bodies, though. Not loving that at all. Sent us everything they have. They want Corypheus dead, and they want it bad.
All other dialogue exhausted Iron Bull: Doing fine. Nothing new, as far as I know.
