The Threat Remains
It’s at the Top
The PC approaches Bull at the tent just outside of Haven.
Iron Bull: They’ve got good form. Cullen’s putting his templar training to good use.
1 - Dialogue options:
- Investigate: How’d you know he’s a templar? [2]
- General: Yes, he is. [3]
- General: You could always help. [4]
- General: I’d rather discuss your men. [5]
2 - Investigate: How’d you know he’s a templar?
PC: Did Cullen tell you he was a templar? He’s not wearing the armor.
Iron Bull: He didn’t have to. Might not be a templar shield, but it’s a templar holding it. He angles the shield just a bit down. Helps direct fire or acid away, so it doesn’t spray right into your face. Qunari learn the same thing when we train to fight Tevinter mages. Your templar’s doing good work.
[Back to 1]
3 - General: Yes, he is.
PC: I’m impressed by what Cullen has accomplished with the troops.
Iron Bull: Damn right. It takes time to build a a group into a team. But he’s got their loyalty. Now he just needs ‘em to make a decent shield wall, and they’ll be good to go. [6]
4 - General: You could always help.
PC: You sound like you want to head down there and give the troops some pointers.
Iron Bull: Nah. I’m no good at command unless I know who my guys are sleeping with and what they like to drink. Inquisition’s already too large for that. The Chargers are big enough for me. [6]
5 - General: I’d rather discuss your men.
PC: Are your mercenaries adjusting to life here?
Iron Bull: Getting there. No major fights with Inquisition troops, beyond the usual chest-thumping. Don’t worry. The Chargers have worked with other groups before. I’ll keep them in line. [6]
6 - Scene continues.
Iron Bull: Biggest problem for the Inquisition right now isn’t on the front line. It’s at the top. You’ve got no leader. No Inquisitor.
Dialogue options:
- General: We’ve got Cassandra. [7]
- Iron Bull slightly approves
- General: Leliana is our leader. [8]
- General: Cullen commands the troops. [9]
- General: Perhaps I should lead. [10]
- Iron Bull slightly approves
- General: Do we need one? [11]
7 - General: We’ve got Cassandra.
PC: Cassandra has been the driving force of this Inquisition. She’s the leader in all but name.
Iron Bull: Cassandra’s a Seeker. From what I gather, that’s a bit like a Ben-Hassrath. She’s a good hunter and a great fighter, but she doesn’t see the big picture. Too busy searching for answers. [15]
8 - General: Leliana is our leader.
PC: Leliana has been pulling the strings of the Inquisition ever since it started.
Iron Bull: Red’s your spymaster, not your leader. I don’t see her standing in the spotlight anytime soon. [15]
9 - General: Cullen commands the troops.
PC: Cullen has the loyalty of our soldiers.
Iron Bull: Yeah, he’s shaping up to be a good commander. But he’s building an army, not a movement. [15]
10 - General: Perhaps I should lead.
PC: Then maybe we need one. I’d be willing.
Iron Bull: You? (Grunts.) Why you?
Dialogue options:
- General (claimed chosen): I was chosen by the maker. [12]
- General: I can seal rifts. [13]
- General: Someone should. I’m willing. [14]
- Iron Bull slightly approves
12 - General: I was chosen by the maker.
PC: I’m the Herald of Andraste.
Iron Bull: Well that gets you the believers, Doesn’t do much for the rest of us, though. [15]13 - General: I can seal rifts.
PC: I’ve got the mark on my hand. I’ve sealed Fade rifts, and hopefully I’ll seal the Breach as well.
Iron Bull: That means you have a skill. That doesn’t mean you should be deciding alliances. [15]14 - General: Someone should. I’m willing.
PC: Nobody else seems to be stepping forward, and since I can seal rifts, I’m here whether I like it or not. If proved necessary to to have an Inquisitor, I could make a go of it.
Iron Bull (Qunari PC): (Grunts.) You sounded like a real Qunari for a second there, Tal-Vashoth.
Iron Bull (non-Qunari PC): (Grunts.) For a second there, you sounded like a Qunari.
Iron Bull: My people don’t pick leader from the strongest, or the smartest, or even the most talented. We pick the ones willing to make the hard decisions… and live with the consequences. [15]
11 - General: Do we need one?
PC: The Inquisition has done alright so far without an Inquisitor.
Iron Bull: That’s because all we’ve needed so far is damage control. A group can handle that. Once you’ve sealed the Breach, it’s gonna be time to make decisions. Someone’s gonna have to step up. [15]
15 - Scene continues.
Iron Bull: Ah, who knows. Maybe you seal the Breach, the Chantry gets off it’s ass, and all these soldiers go home and get fat.
PC: You think?
Iron Bull: It could happen. It won’t, but it could.
Scene ends.
Champions of the Just
Always Staying Positive
The PC approaches Bull at Haven.
Iron Bull (if in party for CotJ): Demons. It had to be demons.
Iron Bull (if not in party for CotJ): Heard there was a big demon at the Seeker Fortress.
Iron Bull: Getting into your head, messing around… (Grunts.)
Dialogue options:
- Flirt: I’ll protect you. [1]
- General: It was worth the risk. [2]
- General: Maybe it never stopped! [3]
- Iron Bull slightly disapproves
- General: We killed it. [4]
- Iron Bull slightly approves
1 - Flirt: I’ll protect you.
PC If you’re nervous about demons, I can protect you.
Iron Bull: My blade pretty much protects me.
PC: Perhaps I can do things your blade can’t.
Iron Bull: I don’t know. It has blood grooves. Well, technically it’s the fuller, but “blood grooves” sounds so much more violent. Anyway, I hope our new friends have what it takes to close the Breach. Damn thing gives me a headache. [5]
2 - General: It was worth the risk.
PC: What matters is we defeated it and brought the templars to our side.
Iron Bull: With all these damn demons popping up, I guess we need the help. Anyway, With the templars on board, hopefully we can close that Breach. Damn thing gives me a headache. [5]
3 - General: Maybe it never stopped!
PC: For all you know, the demon never stopped, and this is all in your mind.
Iron Bull: Oh, for… Now I’m gonna spend the rest of the day thinking about it! Thanks. Anyway, With the templars on board, hopefully we can close that Breach. Damn thing gives me a headache. [5]
4 - General: We killed it.
PC: It’s dead now.
Iron Bull: That’s why I like you, boss. Always staying positive. Anyway, With the templars on board, hopefully we can close that Breach. Damn thing gives me a headache. [5]
5 - Scene ends.
In Hushed Whispers
That’s Honest
The PC approaches Bull at Haven.
Iron Bull: So that Tevinter guy sent you into the future? (Grunts.)
Dialogue options:
- Flirt: I’ll protect you. [1]
- General: Tevinter magic goes too far. [2]
- Iron Bull slightly approves
- General: It was incredible. [3]
- Iron Bull slightly disapproves
- General: Weird, right? [4]
- Iron Bull slightly approves
1 - Flirt: I’ll protect you.
PC If you’re worried about magic, I can protect you.
2 - General: Tevinter magic goes too far.
PC: I’ve got no problem with normal magic, but Tevinter goes beyond all reason.
Iron Bull: I know, right? The Vints are always pushing. Anyway, I hope our new friends have what it takes to close the Breach. Damn thing gives me a headache. [5]
3 - General: It was incredible.
PC: The things magic can do are fascinating.
Iron Bull: (Grunts.) Anyway, I hope our new friends have what it takes to close the Breach. Damn thing gives me a headache. [5]
4 - General: Weird, right?
PC: Every time I think I understand magic, the rules change.
Iron Bull (mage PC): And you’re a mage, so that’s saying something.
Iron Bull (non-mage PC): I know, right? If I were a mage, I’d just throw fire at people. That’s honest.
Iron Bull: Anyway, I hope our new friends have what it takes to close the Breach. Damn thing gives me a headache. [5]
5 - Scene ends.
Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts
That Was a Mess
Iron Bull: You know I’ve got no problems with Orlesians, but that Halamshiral was a mess. At least under the Qun you don’t get everyone tripping on each other’s dicks while the country goes to crap.
Dialogue options:
- Flirt: You’ve got a silver tongue. [1]
- General: We need politics. [2]
- General: There were mitigating factors. [3]
- General: I agree. [4]
1 - Flirt: You’ve got a silver tongue. PC: You’ve got a way with words Bull. Iron Bull: I do what I can. PC: Maybe we can find some other uses for that mouth of yours. Iron Bull: Yeah when is the next meal, anyway? Orlesian food always leaves me hungry. [5]
2 - General: We need politics. PC: The politicking we saw at Halamshiral might seem pointless, but it’s the beating heart of the empire. The winner of the Game is the one who builds alliances… and controls what’s discussed and what’s decided. Iron Bull: So it rewards manipulation instead of rewarding the ability to get stuff done. [5]
3 - General: There were mitigating factors. PC: Corypheus had agents sowing dissent and muddying the waters. Iron Bull: That’s just it. Orlais is so vulnerable. If you killed everyone in the the triumvirate, the Qun would survive unchanged. I don’t know. The Qun isn’t perfect, but it doesn’t care what any single person wants. Orlais is full of people who care about nothing else. [5]
4 - General: I agree. PC: I hate politics. Iron Bull: You’ve got a crappy job then, boss. [5]
5 - Scene ends.
What Pride Had Wrought
That’s Easy
Iron Bull: So to kill Corypheus, all we have to do is kill his dragon first? That’s easy! We’re good at killing shit. Just one more big fight to out this magister asshole down for good. I knew you’d get us here, boss.
Dialogue options:
- General: Thanks for your help. [1]
- General: This will be hard. [2]
- General: I’m ready and eager. [3] +Iron Bull slightly approves
1 - General: Thanks for your help. PC: It’s been an honor, Bull. Iron Bull: Oh, don’t get like that. This isn’t goodbye. We’re kicking this guy’s ass. [4]
2 - General: This will be hard. PC: It’s probably going to be a little harder than “just one more fight.” Iron Bull: I did say it’d be a big one, boss. PC: So you did, Bull. So you did. [4]
3 - General: I’m ready and eager. PC: I’ve been waiting for the chance to pay that bastard back. Iron Bull: Yeah. This is going to be fun. [4]
4 - Scene ends.
Post-game
Dialogue options:
- Sided templars, Cullen quit lyrium [1]
- Templars conscripted, Cullen did not quit lyrium [2]
- Templars allied, Cullen did not quit lyrium [3]
- Mages Conscripted, Vivienne not Divine [4]
- Mages Allied, Vivienne not Divine [5]
- Sided mages, Vivienne Divine [6]
1 - Sided templars, Cullen quit lyrium Iron Bull: I hear a lot of the templars are trying to get off the lyrium. That’s good for them. Maybe not so good for us next time the mages start shitting everything up. [7]
2 - Templars conscripted, Cullen did not quit lyrium Iron Bull: So you’ve got the templars staying with the Inquisition. That’s good. You’ll have a loyal force ready next time the mages start shitting everything up. [7]
3 - Templars allied, Cullen did not quit lyrium Iron Bull: Sounds like the templars are reforming. That’s probably a good thing. You’ll have a loyal force ready next time the mages start shitting everything up. [7]
4 - Mages Conscripted, Vivienne not Divine Iron Bull: I hear your mages are forming something called the Bright Hand. Be interesting to see if they can avoid pissing everyone off this time. [7] [I’ve never seen this in game, personally, but it fits the conditions of the other potential dialogues.]
5 - Mages Allied, Vivienne not Divine Iron Bull: I hear your mages are looking to start a whole separate college of Enchanters. Be interesting to see if they can avoid pissing everyone off this time. [7]
6 - Sided Mages, Vivienne Divine Iron Bull: Funny thing about a mage as Divine: it scares both the mages and the Ben-Hassrath. Those two don’t agree on much. Ah, I’m sure Viv will whip ‘em into shape. or Vickie. Whatever she’s gonna be called now. [7]
7 - Scene continues.
Iron Bull: What’s important is there are rifts out there spawning demons. I’m ready to kick some ass whenever you are.
Scene ends.
