Ride the Bull

The PC is looking at paperwork in their quarters, but looks up to find Bull sitting on the edge of their bed.

Iron Bull: So, listen. I’ve caught the hints. I get what you’re saying. You want to ride the Bull.

Bull stands.

Iron Bull: Can’t say I blame you. But I’m not sure you know what you’re asking. Not sure if you’re ready for it.

Dialogue options:

End Romance: You must be mistaken. [1]
End Romance: I’ve changed my mind. [2]
Flirt: I can handle it. [3]

1 - End Romance: You must be mistaken. PC: You thought I was interested in… sex? Iron Bull: You aren’t? PC: No. Iron Bull: Never mind! Nice talking with you. Scene ends.

2 - End Romance: I’ve changed my mind. PC: You’re right. Flirting was fun, but it probably wouldn’t work out. Iron Bull: Exactly. So don’t worry about it. Let’s just keep killing things. We’re really good at that. For what it’s worth, though… (Grunts.) You’d’ve been walking funny the next day. Anyway, nice talking with you. Have a good one. Scene ends.

3 - Flirt: I can handle it. PC: Oh, I’m ready for it. Iron Bull: See, you say that, but… you really don’t know what that means.

Dialogue options:

End Romance: Point taken. Never mind. (Do not pursue romance with Iron Bull) [4]
Flirt: So show me. [5]
Flirt: Just take me already. [6]

4 - End Romance: Point taken. Never mind. PC: You’re right. We’re better off just staying friends. Iron Bull: Exactly. So don’t worry about it. Let’s just keep killing things. We’re really good at that. For what it’s worth, though… (Grunts.) You’d’ve been walking funny the next day. Anyway, nice talking with you. Have a good one. Scene ends.

5 - Flirt: So show me. PC: So why don’t you show me? [7]

6 - Flirt: Just take me already. PC: Are we gonna do this or not? [7]

7 - Scene continues.

Bull pins their hands over their head.

PC: (Gasps.)

Iron Bull: Last chance…

Dialogue options:

End Romance: No, never mind. (End any potential romance with Iron Bull) [8]
Flirt: This should be fun! [9]
Flirt: Please don’t leave. [10]

8 - End Romance: No, never mind. PC: You were right. I am in no way ready for this. Bull lets go and walks away. Iron Bull: Good night, Inquisitor. Scene ends.

9 - Flirt: This should be fun! PC: A little slower and a lot harder. [11]

10 - Flirt: Please don’t leave. PC: Won’t you please stay? [11]

11 - Scene continues.

Bull is leaving the PC’s quarters and runs into Leliana.

Leliana: Is the Inquisitor inside? I have some information that may be—

He holds up a hand.

Iron Bull: No. Let [them] rest.

Ground Rules

Flirt: We need to talk.

PC: I’d like to talk in private.

Iron Bull: All right.

They move to the PC’s quarters.

Iron Bull: What’s going on, boss?

PC: We need to talk about what happened between us.

Iron Bull: Oh, that. Sure. What’s on your mind?

Dialogue options:

General: I want to go again. [1]
General: I’m surprised how fun it was. [2]
General: I’m not sure about it. [3]

1 - General: I want to go again. PC: You are. And I’d like you on the rest of me, too. Iron Bull: I thought I read you right. [4]

2 - General: I’m surprised how fun it was. PC: Nobody has ever done that to me before. I… enjoyed it. Iron Bull: Of course you did. [4]

3 - General: I’m not sure about it. PC: I’m still not sure how to react to the things we did. Iron Bull: If you’re limping, I can show you a few stretches that’ll take care of it. PC: That’s not what I meant. Iron Bull: You don’t say. Found a part of yourself you didn’t know was there before. [4]

4 - Scene continues.

Iron Bull: Ben-Hassrath training, remember? Grew up learning to manipulate people.

They walks over the desk, and Bull sits on the edge.

Iron Bull: When it’s a hostile target, you give them what they want. But when it’s someone you care about, you give them what they need.

Dialogue options:

General: I need you. [5]
General: Um, how does this work? [6]
General: I do have limits, though. [7]
General: You’re not my master. [8]

5 - General: I need you. PC: Oh, I have a need. Iron Bull: And I can meet that need. But first, ground rules, just so everyone’s clear. [9]

6 - General: Um, how does this work? PC: I, uh… so, if I agree, how does this… work? Iron Bull: Outside this room, nothing changes. You’re the Inquisitor. You’re the boss. [9]

7 - General: I do have limits, though. PC: We’re going to need to establish some rules. Iron Bull: Outside this room, nothing changes. You’re the Inquisitor. You’re the boss. [9]

8 - General: You’re not my master. PC: I’m not going to be your slave. Iron Bull: Outside this room, nothing changes. You’re the Inquisitor. You’re the boss. [9]

9 - Scene continues.

Iron Bull: I will never hurt you without your permission. You will always be safe. If you’re ever uncomfortable, if you ever want me to stop, you say “katoh,” and it’s over. No questions asked.

Dialogue options:

End Romance: Katoh. It’s over. (End romantic relationship with Iron Bull) [10]
General: Works for me. [11]
General: You’ve thought this through. [12]
General: And you’ll just stop? [13]

10 - End Romance: Katoh. It’s over. PC: Whatever happened before, this isn’t what I want. It won’t go any further. Iron Bull: Understood. I’ll see you later, boss. Scene ends.

11 - General: Works for me. PC: That sounds reasonable. Iron Bull: You don’t need to be afraid… Bull stands. Iron Bull: …unless you want to. [14]

12 - General: You’ve thought this through. PC: It’s a little unnerving that you have this down to a system. Iron Bull: Systems are comfortable. And my goal… Bull stands. Iron Bull: …is for you to get very comfortable. [14]

13 - General: And you’ll just stop? PC: No questions asked? Iron Bull: If you didn’t trust me, you would’ve told me to leave… Bull stands. Iron Bull: …but you didn’t. [14]

14 - Scene continues.

End Romance: No. This doesn’t work for me. (End romantic relationship with Iron Bull) [15]
Flirt: I want you. [16]

15 - End Romance: No. This doesn’t work for me. PC: Katoh. Iron Bull: You got it, boss. Scene ends.

16 - Flirt: I want you. PC: Take me. Iron Bull: Can do.

Tough Love

[Give Bull his gift.]

PC: I have something for you.

Iron Bull: Really? Well, I think I’ve got something for you too. Come on, I’ll go first.

Bull lays nude on the bed while the PC is getting dressed.

Iron Bull: There we go. No Inquisition. No war. Nothing outside this room. Just you and me. So, what’d you wanna talk about?

Cullen walks in, looking at paperwork.

Cullen: Sorry to disturb your rest, Inquisitor, but our fortif—oh, sweet Maker!

He recoils and holds up his papers to block the view.

Iron Bull: Cullen. How’s it goin’?

Josephine enters as well.

Josephine: Is the Inquisitor awake? I thought perhaps we… (Sputters.)

She seems mesmerized.

Dialogue options:

General: Oh, dear. PC: (Sighs.) ㅤㅤ ㅤ
General: I can explain. PC: This is actually, um… (Stammers.) ㅤㅤ ㅤ
General: What do you want? PC: Can I help either of you with something?

Cullen: I am so sorry.

Josephine: I cannot move my legs.

Cassandra enters.

Cassandra: Is something the matt—ah!

Iron Bull: Oh, for fuck’s sake!

Cassandra: Do you see this?

Cullen: No.

Cassandra: So, I take it—

Iron Bull: Actually, [they’re] the one who’s been taking it.

Cullen: (Snorts.)

Cassandra: I apologize for interrupting what I assume was a… momentary diversion?

Cullen: Nothing wrong with having a bit of fun.

Josephine: Who wouldn’t be a little curious?

Dialogue options:

General: This was just a fling. (End relationship with Bull.) [1]
Flirt: Bull and I are together. (Commit to the relationship with Bull.) [2]

1 - General: This was just a fling. PC: Iron Bull and I were just blowing off some steam.

Iron Bull: Yeah, the boss wanted to ride the Bull. Nothing for anyone to get excited about.

Cullen: Right.

Josephine: I’ll just…

Iron Bull: Hey, Josephine, you busy later?

They leave, and Bull sits up.

Iron Bull: Ah, well. Fun while it lasted.

Dialogue options:

General: I’m sorry. [3]
General: We can keep doing this. [4]
General: Goodbye. [5]

3 - General: I’m sorry. PC: I hope I didn’t hurt you. Iron Bull: You didn’t. No harm done. I was trying to relieve your stress, not add to it. If you’re ashamed of this, I’m doing a crappy job. PC: Bull… Iron Bull: Don’t worry about it, Boss. I’ll see you later. Scene ends.

4 - General: We can keep doing this. PC: We don’t have to stop. Iron Bull: Yeah, we do. I was trying to relieve your stress, not add to it. If you’re ashamed of this, I’m doing a crappy job. PC: Bull… Iron Bull: Don’t worry about it, Boss. I’ll see you later. Scene ends.

5 - General: Goodbye. PC: Goodbye, Bull. Iron Bull: See you later, Boss. Scene ends.

2 - General: Bull and I are together. PC: This was more than just a momentary diversion, and Bull and I intend to continue. Is that a problem?

Cullen: No!

Josephine: Not at all!

Cassandra: A surprise, I’ll admit. But not a problem.

Cullen: We’ll leave you be.

Josephine: Yes. Do enjoy yourselves.

They leave, and Bull sits up.

Iron Bull: (Sighs.) You okay, boss?

Dialogue options:

General: Surprisingly, yes. PC: You know, I believe I am. ㅤㅤ ㅤ
General: Better than them. PC: I believe we may have blinded poor Cullen. ㅤㅤ ㅤ
General: Better without interruptions. PC: No. I didn’t say “katoh,” but here you’ve stopped anyway.

Iron Bull: (Laughs.)

PC: But since we have a moment…

Iron Bull: What’s that?

The PC presents the necklace of Kadan.

PC: A dragon’s tooth, split in two. So no matter how far apart life takes us, we’re always together.

Iron Bull: Not often people surprise me, kadan.

PC: Kadan?

Iron Bull: Kadan. My heart.

Bull places his hands on their face and pulls them back to bed.

PC: Kadan.

Kadan

Bull and the PC lie naked in bed.

Iron Bull: Damn, that was… That was good, kadan.

Dialogue options:

General: Thank you for that. [1]
General: Wow. [2]
General: Is that all? [3]

1 - General: Thank you for that. PC: Oh, I needed that. Iron Bull: My pleasure. Well, maybe some of it’s yours. [4]

2 - General: Wow. PC: I’m just glad I could keep up. [4]

3 - General: Is that all? PC: Are we done? I thought that was your warm-up. [4]

4 - Scene continues.

Iron Bull: All this time, and you’ve never said “katoh.” If I’d known you’d last this long, I’d have let you pick your own watchword.

5 - Dialogue options:

Investigate: People pick them? [6]
General: I’ve come close to using it. [7]
General: I’ve never needed to use it. [8]

6 - Investigate: People pick them?** PC: People choose their own watchwords? Iron Bull: Normally, yes. It can be anything, so long as it’s not something you’d ever shout by accident. Josephine might pick “madrigal,” while Cullen would go with “phylactery.” As for Cassandra, it’d probably be something soft, like “silk” or “satin.” PC: You’re sure about that. Iron Bull: Hey, Ben-Hassrath, remember? I’ve got everyone pegged.

9 - Dialogue options:

Investigate: Vivienne? [10]

10 - Investigate: Vivienne? PC: What about Vivienne? Iron Bull: Tough one. I’m going with “periwinkle.” She looks like a periwinkle kind of lady. [back to 9] ㅤㅤ ㅤ 11 - Investigate: Sera? PC: What about Sera? Iron Bull: Well, it wouldn’t be “shite,” or you’d never even get started. Honestly, though, Sera’s not the kind who lets you tie her down. [back to 9] ㅤㅤ ㅤ 12 - Investigate: Varric? PC: What about Varric? Wait, don’t tell me… Bianca. Iron Bull: No, it’d have to be something he wouldn’t shout during sex. Maybe “Paragon.” Or “thaig.” [back to 9] ㅤㅤ ㅤ 13 - Investigate: Cole? PC: Here’s a tough one: Cole. Iron Bull: You know, he stumped me. I actually asked him. He thought really hard about it, then finally said his watchword was “stop.” I don’t think he got it. Probably for the best, honestly. [back to 9] ㅤㅤ ㅤ 14 - Investigate: Blackwall? PC: How about Blackwall? Iron Bull: Hmm… “petit-alms.” Get deep enough under that armor, there’s a man who lived the good life once. [back to 9]

7 - General: I’ve come close to using it. PC: You’ve almost had me a couple of times. Iron Bull: Good. [15]

8 - General: I’ve never needed to use it. PC: If you want to make me use that watchword, you’ll need to try harder. Iron Bull: Good to know. [15]

15 - Scene continues.

18 - General: We’re together to the end. PC: You did. And no matter what happens, if we don’t make it out of this… Iron Bull: Katoh. Stop. I can’t… We’re coming out of this alive. Together. Bull pushes them back to bed. Scene ends.

19 - General: Is that a proposal, dear? PC: I just wish we’d had time for the wedding before Corypheus showed up. Iron Bull: I… what? PC: I assumed we were getting married. Iron Bull: Um… uh… PC: (Laughs.) The look on your face! Iron Bull: Oh, you are evil! Bull pushes them back to bed. Scene ends.

20 - General: I love you. PC: Not “this.” You made things easier on my end. I love you. Iron Bull: You going soft on me, kadan? The PC gives him a look. Iron Bull: I love you, too. Bull pushes them back to bed. Scene ends.

17 - Allied with the Qunari

Iron Bull: You helped me remember who I really am, kadan. I won’t forget that, no matter what happens. You’re a damn fine Inquisitor. I hope this made it a little easier for you.

Dialogue options:

General: Wait, was this a job for you? [21]
General: It has. [22]
General: It’s been fun! [23]

21 - General: Wait, was this a job for you? PC: What do you mean? You make it sound like you don’t actually… Was this just part of your job? Helping the Inquisitor relax? Iron Bull: (Laughs.) You look pretty relaxed to me. Bull pushes them back to bed. Iron Bull: It wasn’t just a job. Come here. Scene ends.

22 - General: It has. PC: I needed this. Thank you for seeing it. Iron Bull: My pleasure. Bull pushes them back to bed. Scene ends.

23 - General: It’s been fun! PC: It’s certainly been more enjoyable. I don’t know about easier, though. Some parts have certainly gotten… harder. Iron Bull: (Laughs.) You think? Bull pushes them back to bed. Scene ends.
