  • Stoic: It’s been a long night. [2]
  • Sad (Celene assassinated): I wish I’d saved Celene. [3]
  • Sad (Gaspard executed): The poor grand duke. [4]
  • Anxious: I worry what this will bring. [5]

1 - Pleased: Things went well. PC: No complaints. Everything worked according to plan. Blackwall: You saved Orlais. You have earned some time for yourself.

2 - Stoic: It’s been a long night. PC: I’m just tired. This was a long night. Blackwall: You work too hard. I can see you wanting to get away from it all.

3 - Sad (Celene assassinated): I wish I’d saved Celene. PC: Having watched the empress die before my eyes… I’m not sure I made the right call. Blackwall: You did what you thought was right. That’s all any of us can do.

4 - Sad (Gaspard executed): The poor grand duke. PC: I wish I could have saved Duke Gaspard. Blackwall: You never do give up on people, no matter how lost they are.

5 - Anxious: I worry what this will bring. PC: Why do I suspect the events of this evening will only bring us more trouble later? Blackwall: You’re probably right. But we can save that worry for another day.

6 - Scene continues.

Blackwall: The band still plays. Might I have this dance, Lady Adaar Blackwall: The night isn’t over yet. May I have this dance, Lady Lavellan? Blackwall: There’s still some time left… Lady Cadash, may I have this dance? Blackwall: Before we leave, may I have this dance, Lady Trevelyan?

Blackwall offers the PC his hand.

Dialogue options:

  • General: Just stay with me. [7]
  • General: I would like to be alone. [8]
  • General: I just want to leave. [9]

8 - General: I would like to be alone. PC: I just need some time alone. Blackwall: Of course, my lady. Blackwall leaves. [11]

9 - General: I just want to leave. PC: Let’s just go. I’ve had enough of this place. Blackwall leads them back inside. [11]

10 - General: Yes. PC: I’d like that. They start dancing. Inquisitor: I didn’t know you danced. Blackwall: I did once, in another life. [11]

11 - Scene ends.

Cassandra

Cassandra walks out onto the balcony after Morrigan leaves and joins the PC at the railing.

Cassandra: I can’t believe you escaped before me. A fat count insisted on talking about soup for fifteen minutes. We can return to Skyhold whenever you like. The sooner the better. Is something wrong?

Dialogue options:

Pleased: I’m completely fine. [1] Stoic: It’s been a long night. [2] Sad (Celene assassinated): I should have saved Celene. [3] Sad (Gaspard executed): The poor duke. [4] Anxious: More trouble is coming. [5]

1 - Pleased: I’m completely fine. PC: Things went according to plan for once. I couldn’t be happier. Cassandra: It is a bit of a surprise, isn’t it?

2 - Stoic: It’s been a long night. PC: I’m just worn out. Tonight has been… very long. Cassandra: It was a lot of foolishness. But we did strike a blow against Corypheus.

3 - Sad: I should have saved Celene. PC: Did I make the wrong choice? Should I have stopped the assassination? Cassandra: What’s important is that the empire was saved. You did what you thought best.

4 - Sad: The poor duke. PC: I wish I could have saved the grand duke. His death was needless. Cassandra: He died with dignity. It could have been far worse, considering his treachery.

5 - Anxious: More trouble is coming PC: This isn’t over yet. Corypheus will strike back at us for this. Cassandra: Of course he will. Then we will destroy him, as he deserves.

6 - Scene continues.

Cassandra: We will need to put the soldiers at Skyhold on alert. Better to be safe.

Dialogue options:

General: Let’s go home. [7] General: I need a moment. [8] General: Not yet. Let’s dance. [9]

7 - General: Let’s go home. PC: That’s an excellent idea. Let’s go home. They head back inside. [10]

8 - General: I need a moment. PC: I’ll be ready to leave soon. Give me a moment. Cassandra: As you wish. Cassandra leaves. [10]

9 - General: Not yet. Let’s dance. PC: Wait. There is one thing we must do before we go. The PC bows with a flourish. PC: May I have this dance, Lady Cassandra? Cassandra: A dance. After all we’ve been through tonight? PC: Can you think of a better way to celebrate? They begin to dance. Cassandra: I suppose this isn’t terrible. [10]

10 - Scene ends.

Dorian

Dorian walks out onto the balcony after Morrigan leaves and joins the PC at the railing.

Dorian: There was an ancient dowager looking for you. Said she had twelve daughters! I told her you’d left already. You can thank me later. Or now. But you look lost in thought. Somethin on your mind?

Dialogue options:

  • Pleased: I’m completely fine. [1]
  • Stoic: It was a long night. [2]
  • Sad (Celene assassinated): I should have saved Celene. [3]
  • Sad (Florianne killed): The poor duchess. [4]
  • Anxious: More trouble is coming. [5]

1 - Pleased: I’m completely fine. PC: Things went according to plan for once. I couldn’t be happier. Dorian: It was a nice—if shocking—change of pace. [6]

2 - Stoic: It was a long night. PC: I’m just worn out. Tonight has been… very long. Dorian: (Chuckles.) You won! You saved the day. Literally, the day is saved. You should be celebrating! Enjoy yourself while you can. [6]

3 - Sad (Celene assassinated): I should have saved Celene. PC: Maybe I should have forced some kind of peace agreement. Maybe Celene didn’t have to die. Dorian: Sitting in the throne’s a risky job. At least her empire’s safe, yes? [6]

4 - Sad (Florianne killed): The poor duchess. PC: I wish I could have reasoned with the duchess. She didn’t have to die. Dorian: There you go, thinking you can save everyone. Some people make bad choices. Don’t dwell. [6]

5 - Anxious: More trouble is coming. This isn’t over yet. Corypheus will strike back at us for this loss. Dorian: Eventually. Not right this second. Even when he does, it’s not as if we won’t be expecting it. Not this time. [6]

6 - Scene continues.

Dorian: What you need is a distraction. I have just the thing: let’s dance.

Dialogue options:

  • General: I’d love to. [7]
  • General: Not right now. [8]

7 - General: I’d love to. PC: I was hoping you’d ask. Dorian: Thank goodness one of us has a little initiative. They dance. [11]

8 - General: Not right now. PC: I’m not in a dancing mood. Dorian: Alas. Shall I leave you to your pensive brooding, then?

Dialogue options:

  • General: Stay. [9]
  • General: Go on ahead. [10]

>9 - General: Stay.

PC: My pensive brooding works better with an audience. Dorian leaves.[11]

10 - General: Go on ahead. PC: I promise not to brood for too long. Dorian: I wouldn’t advise it. Dorian leaves. [11]

11 - Scene ends.

Iron Bull

Iron Bull walks out onto the balcony after Morrigan leaves and joins the PC at the railing.

  • Stoic: I’m just tired. [2]
  • Sad (Celene assassinated): I regret Celene’s death. [3]
  • Sad (Gaspard executed): Poor Gaspard. [4]
  • Anxious: This isn’t over. [5]

1 - Pleased: I’m good. PC: We achieved all our goals. I’m enjoying the moment of peace. Iron Bull: Sounds like a plan. You’ll get kicked in the teeth soon enough. Hang onto the good stuff. [6]

2 - Stoic: I’m just tired. PC: It’s been a long day. Iron Bull: Least we got to the end of it alive. That’s more than some can say. Cullen’s giving orders now. We’re just about good here. [6]

3 - Sad (Celene assassinated): I regret Celene’s death. PC: I don’t know if I did they right thing, letting the empress die. Iron Bull: Little late to take it back. ‘Sides, you didn’t kill her. Stupid dragon-crap Orlesian politics did. [6]

4 - Sad (Gaspard executed): Poor Gaspard. PC: I never meant for the grand duke to die. Iron Bull: he tried to take over the throne of Orlais. He knew the risks. ‘Sides, man like him would’ve hated dying old in his bed. [6]

5 - Anxious: This isn’t over. PC: This is only a temporary victory. Iron Bull: Oh, probably. Not much you can do about it tonight. [6]

6 - Scene continues.

Iron Bull offers his arm.

Iron Bull: Come on. The music’s finally got enough of a beat to dance to.

Dialogue options:

  • General: Let’s go home. [7]
  • General: I need a moment alone. [8]
  • General: Keep me company? [9]
  • General: I’d love to. [10]

7 - General: Let’s go home. PC: It’s time we went home. Iron Bull: Good. They’re out of food. [11]

8 - General: I need a moment alone. PC: Can I have a moment alone? I need to clear my head. Iron Bull: You got it. Iron Bull heads back into the ballroom. [11]

9 - General: Keep me company? PC: I wouldn’t mind some company. Unless you’d rather rush back to the ballroom? Iron Bull: Nah, they’re out of food. Iron Bull leans on the balcony with the PC [11]

10 - General: I’d love to. PC: I’d love to. Iron Bull: Good. They’re out of food. They go back into the ballroom. [11]

11 - Scene ends.

Sera

Sera walks out onto the balcony after Morrigan leaves and joins the PC at the railing.

Sera: Hey you! They brought out the booze, and now a de Launcet is chucking into Lord Some-git’s helmet! You’re missing the fun part. What’s wrong?

Dialogue options:

  • Pleased: I’m fine. It all worked out. [1]
  • Stoic: It’s been a long night. [2]
  • Sad (Celene assassinated): I feel sad about the empress. [3]
  • Sad (Celene rules alone): It’s Briala and her cause. [4]
  • Sad (Gaspard executed): I feel bad about Gaspard. [5]
  • Anxious: So many will die in out fight. [6]

1 - Pleased: I’m fine. It all worked out. PC: (Chuckles.) Sera, everything is just fine. I couldn’t be happier. Sera: Yes, you could. You could be in there with me, getting stupid. Really, really stupid to match this crowd. Come on, lets have some fun. It’s our turn.

2 - Stoic: It’s been a long night. PC: I’m just worn out. Tonight has been… very long. Sera: Standing alone out here isn’t making it any shorter. Come in, have a drink. Have some fun. We need it.

3 - Sad: I feel sad about the empress. PC: The games we play have high stakes, Sera. It’s a shame Celene had to lose today. Sera: Mm, she was pretty. But it was her fault for playing, yeah? Never bet if you can’t take losing. Speaking of, enough banana peels, I bet we could race a throne across the whole ballroom.

4 - Sad: It’s Briala and her cause. PC: Even if we couldn’t help Briala, I hope we can make life better for Orlesian elves. Sera: Mm, she was pretty. But it was her fault for playing, yeah? Never bet if you can’t take losing. Speaking of, enough banana peels, I bet we could race a throne across the whole ballroom.

5 - Sad: I feel bad about Gaspard. PC: I was just thinking about the grand duke, and the cost of the games we play. Sera: Oh, don’t be sad. I mean, it is sad, but it’s not your fault. He was really bad at this. You know what he’d want? You and me to go back in there and embarrass the piss out of everyone.

6 - Anxious: So many will die in out fight. PC: I’m just… Corypheus doesn’t care what he throws at us. How many lives he ruins. So many more are going to die. Sera: What you did saved way more lives among way better people. That’s all we can hope for, right? To save better people?

7 - Scene continues.

Sera: How about we empty their cellar? Would that help? It’d help me.

Dialogue options:

  • General: Let’s do it. [8]
  • General: In a minute. [9]
  • General: First, let’s dance. [10]

8 - General: Let’s do it. PC: You make a compelling argument. I’m in. Sera: Oh, good, it’d be no fun without you. Anyway, come on—they’ve got a keg of peach brandy you can fit your head in! They head back into the ballroom. [11]

9 - General: In a minute. PC: I will. Just give me a minute. Sera: Stand here thinking if you want. I’m going to show them why taverns out down sawdust. Please feel better. Sera heads back inside. [11]

10 - General: First, let’s dance. PC: Sera? Dance with me. Sera: (Laughs nervously.) I don’t… you be careful, or I will stomp your pinky. PC: Is that innuendo? Sera: No it’s up the front. (Giggles.) They start to dance. [11]

11 - Scene ends.

  • Sad (Celene assassinated): I regret Celene’s death. [3]
  • Sad (Gaspard executed): Poor Gaspard. [4]
  • Anxious: I don’t think this is over. [5]

1 - Pleased: Things turned out well. PC: We achieved all out goal. I’m enjoying the moment of peace while it lasts. Solas: You should, They’re fleeting enough. Hang onto them while you can.

2 - Stoic: I’m just tired. PC: It’s been a very long day. Solas: For everyone, I’d imagine. It’s nearly over now. Cullen’s giving the men their marching orders as we speaks.

3 - Sad: I regret Celene’s death. PC: I don’t know if I did the right thing, letting the empress die, Solas: Sometimes sacrifices must be made. Nothing is ever won without something else being lost. Remember the lesson, but do not dwell on it. You didn’t invent war.

4 - Sad: Poor Gaspard. PC: I never meant for the duke to die. Solas: He wagered his life for the crown and lost. He knew what to expect. Remember what happened; do not dwell on it. You cannot save people from themselves.

5 - Anxious: I don’t think this is over. PC: I have a feeling this is only a temporary victory. Solas: There’s much, much trouble ahead. For now, focus on what’s in front of you.

6 - Scene continues.

9 - General: Just keep me company PC: I wouldn’t mind some company. Unless you’d rather rush back to the ballroom? Solas: I can sacrifice the pleasure of the Orlesian ball. Solas leaves. [11]

10 - General: Excellent idea. PC: I’d love to. They begin to dance. [11]

11 - Scene ends.

2 - Stoic: It’s been a long night. PC: I’m just worn out. Tonight has been… very long. Cullen: For all of us. I’m glad it’s over.

3 - Sad: I should have saved Celene. PC: I should have stopped the duchess. The empress shouldn’t have died. Cullen: It’s a shame about Empress Celene, but the empire will not fall today. You’ve done enough.

4 - Sad: The poor duchess. PC: I wish I could have reasoned with the duchess. She didn’t have to die. Cullen: You can’t always save people from themselves. A hard truth to learn, but I know it well.

5 - Anxious: More trouble is coming PC: This isn’t over yet. Corypheus will strike back at us for this loss. Cullen: I’ll put our troops on alert. When he strikes, we’ll be ready.

Dialogue options:

  • General: Not right now. [7]
  • General: Yes. [8]

2 - Stoic: It’s been a long night. PC: I’m just worn out. Tonight has been… very long. Josephine: It was a tumultuous evening! But Orlais is safe now. It was worth the struggle.

3 - Sad: I should have saved Celene. PC: I think I made a mistake. I should have had Cullen intervene to save the empress. Josephine: You made a choice. It may not have been the wrong one. Even if the empress could not be saved, the empire did not fall. Everyone here owes you their life. That’s no small thing.

4 - Sad: The poor duke. PC: I wish I could have done something to save Gaspard. He didn’t need to die. Josephine: It was regrettable. But he made his choice when he declared his war. His death was his own doing, not yours.

5 - Anxious: More trouble is coming. PC: This isn’t over yet. Corypheus will strike back at us for this loss. Josephine: He surely will. But we’ll be ready for whatever comes.

9 - Flirt: Would you like to dance? PC: Would you care to dance with me, Lady Josephine?

The PC offers their hand.

Josephine (male PC): I… was hoping you’d ask, my lord. Josephine (female PC): I… would love to, my lady.

They dance, and the scene fades to black. [10]

10 - Scene ends.
