Unwanted Guests

  • Bellara: Why are you here?
  • Davrin: Why are you here?
  • Rook: Why are you here?

  • Bellara: They aren’t talking!
  • Emmrich: They’re not talkative at all!
  • Harding: I don’t think they’re talking!
  • Lucanis: Talking to Venatori never works.
  • Neve: Nice try. But I don’t think they’re talking!
  • Taash: Hope they left a note.

  • Bellara: If they won’t tell us, then we stop them. However we have to.
  • Davrin: If they won’t tell us, they can die!
  • Rook: If you won’t talk, you’ll have to die!

  • Dalish Villager: Those Venatori were awful.
  • Dalish Villager: Thank the creators.
  • Dalish Villager: I didn’t think anyone would come.

Grim Bonds

Rook: Let’s go back to the Lighthouse, prepare, then meet up with the Veil Jumpers.

Mayor Julius: I was able to slip in among the Venatori. They say the sacrifices will start soon.

Irelin: Anything else?

Mayor Julius: I picked up some Venatori robes. Disguises could help us get to the Dalish…

Strife: There’s a thought. How many?

Mayor Julius: How many do we need? I can get us more. They don’t look carefully at humans.

Irelin: Do that. Then gather blankets and rations. We’ll need them once we get people out.

Mayor Julius: Of course.

Rook: Sounds like we should move quickly.

Blood of Arlathan

Blending In

  • Bellara: The others are keeping watch, right? Just in case?
  • Davrin: Are the others keeping an eye out?
  • Emmrich: Are the others keeping close?
  • Harding: Are the others going to be nearby? Just in case?
  • Lucanis: Are the others staying close?
  • Taash: Is the rest of the team staying close?

Rook: Hopefully that means fewer tentacles.

Harding: You’re so positive. It’s cute.

  • Bellara: It looks like a crowd’s gathering over by that amphitheatre.
  • Davrin: That amphitheatre. Crowd’s gathering there.
  • Emmrich: That amphitheatre looks like a fine place for a risen god to address a cult.
  • Harding: The crowd’s headed to that amphitheatre.
  • Lucanis: Something is happening at that amphitheatre.
  • Taash: Down there. The open space past the pillars. That’s where the cult’s gathering.

Rook: All right. Let’s check it out.

Rook: Where did Elgar’nan’s Archdemon go?

  • Bellara: He must’ve sent it away! He knows we’ve already killed one Archdemon.
  • Emmrich: A surfeit of caution, perhaps? We killed Ghilan’nain’s Archdemon.
  • Harding: I bet he’s being real careful. He doesn’t want to risk it getting hurt or killed.
  • Lucanis: He sent it away. He doesn’t want to risk someone taking it down.
  • Taash: It’s weak. Easier for us to take it down right now. He must be afraid of that.

  • Bellara: They’ve got the halla in cages. That’s awful. Halla should never be caged.
  • Davrin: They’ve caged the halla. Over my dead body.
  • Rook: They’ve caged the halla. Halla hate cages.

Rook: Halla. They’re Dalish steeds.

Venatori: I don’t like the way it’s looking at me. Do you think it knows?

Venatori Scholar: Knows what?

Venatori: That I’m one of those who raided the Dalish camps.

Venatori Scholar: Please, it’s just a stupid deer.

Venatori Scholar: They are spectacular beasts. And sacred to Ghilan’nain.

Venatori: You’re saying she’ll be mad if I make it into a trophy.

Venatori Scholar: She won’t miss just one halla.

  • Venatori Scholar: The Old Gods were really the elven gods. I wonder why their Mythal never became one of ours.
  • Venatori Scholar: Did you know that Ghilan’nain was favored of Andruil, the elven goddess of the hunt?
  • Venatori Scholar: Elgar’nan once blotted out the sun, according to the legends.

  • Venatori: Some noble woman tried to pet the halla. It bit her, and she burned its eyes in its head.
  • Venatori: Watch out for that one. It tried to gore me with its antlers.
  • Venatori: What are they going to do with the halla once we’re done?

  • Venatori: Kill the beast! For Elgar’nan! Let the blood flow!
  • Venatori: Ah, the energy of this crowd is invigorating.
  • Venatori: We raided the camps in the night. Caught as many as we could. Burned their landships.

Starstruck Venatori: Did you hear about the people who killed Ghilan’nain’s Archdemon at Weisshaupt?

Reasoned with the First WardenPunched the First Warden
Starstruck Venatori: I hear their leader, Rook, ran up to the dragon waving a small knife.

Bored Venatori: Sounds like a good way to get killed.

Starstruck Venatori: The guts it must’ve taken to do that. Damn.
Starstruck Venatori: Their leader, Rook, punched the First Warden. In his face. In front of the entire Order.

Bored Venatori: That’s supposed to be impressive?

Starstruck Venatori: Grey Wardens fight darkspawn before breakfast. And this was the First Warden!

Under Elgar’nan’s spell:

  • Bellara: No. His death meant something. Leave him alone!
  • Davrin: He’s telling me the griffons will never be hurt again.
  • Taash: She wouldn’t want to come back. Not from your vashedan magic.

Chased by Venatori

Rook: Yeah. That’s right. We broke your hold. How’d you like that, asshole?

Rook: You saved our lives. Now we have to save the Dalish.

Rook: We’re here for the Dalish, not Elgar’nan.

  • Bellara: That’s a whole lot of Venatori we’re about to fight!
  • Davrin: If we try to push our way through, we’ll die! It’s suicide!
  • Emmrich: We’re pushing through? They far outnumber us!
  • Harding: We can’t fight all of them! We’ll die!
  • Taash: Hitting ‘em head-on?
  • Lucanis: We’re going through them?

Rook: Trust me!

  • Bellara: There’s so many!
  • Davrin: There’s no end to these people!
  • Emmrich: They have the advantage of numbers!
  • Harding: How are there so many cultists?
  • Lucanis: Where did they find all these people?
  • Taash: There’s a whole lot of ‘em!

Neve: We need to keep moving! The minute we stop—

Rook: We’ll be overrun! I know!

Rook: We’re going to have to get through these Venatori to get to the Dalish! Come on!

  • Bellara: Darkspawn! Thought we’d get a break from them!
  • Davrin: Darkspawn! I knew I sensed something else.
  • Emmrich: And now darkspawn?
  • Harding: Darkspawn! I wasn’t expecting darkspawn!
  • Lucanis: Darkspawn.
  • Taash: *(Frustrated growl) *Darkspawn!

Neve: So the Venatori haven’t stopped playing with blighted things.

  • Bellara: Another barrier! Smash the crystal that controls it!
  • Davrin: Damn, another barrier! Take out the crystal!
  • Emmrich: Another barrier. Destroying the crystal should end it.
  • Harding: Another crystal barrier! Destroy it!
  • Lucanis: Another barrier! Find the crystal!
  • Taash: More magical crap! Break the crystal! That usually works!

Rook: Another crystal. Smash it!

  • Bellara: Anyone seen the others?
  • Davrin: Anyone have eyes on the others?
  • Emmrich: I hope the others are safe.
  • Harding: Where are the others? We could use some help right now!
  • Lucanis: The others?
  • Taash: Where’s the rest of the team?

Rook: We’ll meet up with them soon!

  • Bellara: It’s Strife and the others! They’re trying to keep the way clear!
  • Neve: I see the others, and the Veil Jumpers! They’re trying to clear the way!

Elgar’nan: So the Dread Wolf sends his pawns. They will be trophies to mark my ascension. Bring them to me!

Venatori: Where did they go? Find them! Venatori: Flush them out! They can’t have gone far!

Venatori Mage: You cannot win… the Venatori will prevail… VenatoriMage: For Elgar’nan!

Elgar’nan: The elves are mine and mine alone! Destroy any who approach the cages! Elgar’nan: If the elves escape, Venatori, your own lives are forfeit! Elgar’nan: Useless incompetents! You are not worth the blood in your veins!

Rook: What is that thing? It looks like some kind of creepy magical… treasure chest? Rook: We keep seeing these things. What are they? They look like creepy magical… treasure chests?

  • Bellara: Super creepy. And it’s not elven. Probably something the Venatori brought.
  • Davrin: It doesn’t look elven. A Venatori trick, maybe?
  • Emmrich: It’s Tevinter-made, but I’m unfamiliar with the enchantments laid upon it.
  • Lucanis: This has to be a Venatori trick.
  • Taash: It can look however it wants. Loot is loot.

Taash: You can’t disguise a monster as a treasure chest! That’s vashedan!

Rook: What is this? Where did you find this?

  • Bellara: Old ruins use levers as keys sometimes! Try it!
  • Davrin: A gate. Looked the same. It used a lever as a key! Might work!
  • Emmrich: We found a gate that used a lever as a key. Try it!
  • Harding: Saw a gate earlier with a lever like this to open it!
  • Lucanis: We saw a gate like this. That should be the key!
  • Taash: We saw a gate like this. It used a lever as a key! Try it!

  • Bellara: Here! Hurry! There’s more Venatori coming your way!
  • Davrin: Here! Hurry! More Venatori on the way!
  • Emmrich: Here. Quickly! There’s even more Venatori on the way!
  • Harding: This better work! There’s more Venatori coming your way!
  • Lucanis: Here! Hurry! There’s more Venatori on the way!
  • Taash: Here! Hurry! You’ve got more Venatori coming your way!

Solas and Elgar’nan

Elgar’nan: But perhaps you will suit better as a blood feast for my pet!

Rook: Stop it. Stop talking to me.

Solas: The Dalish do not have much time. This path will lead you to them.

Rook: Is Solas standing there, or have I lost my mind?

Solas: Your mind is no less confused than usual.

Rook: Solas? But how? This is one of Elgar’nan’s minds games.

Solas: A trick, yes—but hopefully ours, not his.

Rook: I want to ask, but I’ll take any help I can get right now.

Solas: If you wish, I can guide you directly to the Dalish.

Rook: We need to thwart the Venatori or we’ll never get through!

Solas: I have an idea, but we must hurry.

Rook: We need to get away from these Venatori!

Solas: Agreed. If you follow my voice, I will guide you. But we must hurry.

Rook: Solas is keeping him occupied, but he knows we’re going after the Dalish.

Neve: That’s not good. He might—

Rook: I know that!

Rook: I can feel them in my head.

Neve: You can’t stop. We need to get out of this trap before we’re surrounded.

Rook: The blight pools are getting worse.

Neve: They’re going to close us in, Rook!

Rook: This way!

Solas: You know what surprises me most, though? I never thought to see you so eager to serve.

Elgar’nan: I do not serve. I have never served.

Solas: Do you not see how the blight has leashed you? You think its thoughts. You curry its favor. You wear its very corruption upon your face like vallaslin.

Solas: Our ancient army used to gleam like a field of diamonds in the sun. But as for your forces now… petty cultists and grunting darkspawn? Little wonder you prefer the shadows.

Elgar’nan: It pains me that you still you oppose us. A shame, that Wisdom failed to find you in your long years of reflection.

Varric narration:

Elgar’nan: The elves were promised to my dragon. Noble blood, offered unto a noble beast, to quell the hunger of long repose. But this is merely a test of resolve. Mine. And yours. I accept the gift of your lives, and thank you for your generosity.
