Bidding Farewell

Back to Lucanis Directory

Rook finds Lucanis in his room.

Lucanis: Rook. Do you have a minute?

Rook: Of course. Something wrong?

Lucanis: Teia wants to meet.

Rook: Any day you spend with the Seventh Talon is a good day.Rook: That doesn’t sound like a bad thing.

Lucanis: She wants to plan Caterina’s funeral.

Rook: Oh. Right.

Lucanis: If you don’t mind, I… could use some backup. In case Spite gets out of hand.

Rook: Let’s not keep Teia waiting.

They head to the Cantori Diamond.

Teia: Good! You’re here.

Lucanis: Thank you for making the arrangements, Teia.

Teia: For Caterina… how could I do otherwise? I’m so sorry, Lucanis. This must be such a blow. Rook, thank you for coming with him. I need one Dellamorte to plan this. His cousin has been no help at all.

Illario: I’m sorry, Teia. This is just… too much right now.

Dialogue options:

1 - Affable: I’ll help however I can.

Rook: If there’s anything I can do, just say the word.

Teia: You’re always such a dear. You certainly didn’t learn that from Viago.Teia: You’re such a dear. I hope these two are paying attention.

Lucanis: Teia. Don’t flirt with my… colleague.

Teia: Jealous? Fine, to business, then.

Scene continues. [4]

2 - Sarcastic: Lucanis wouldn’t come alone.

Rook: Lucanis would’ve stayed in the base drinking coffee if I hadn’t agreed to come along.

Teia: Andraste save us, I swear these boys are exactly the same.

Scene continues. [4]

3 - Stoic: Tell us what you need.

Rook: What do you need us to do?

Return to previous tree.

Teia: There’s a lot to plan. But first, I need the ashes.

Illario: Ashes?

Teia: Maker help us, yes, the ashes! Caterina’s ashes. From the cremation?

Illario: Oh. Yes. Of course. I’ll get them to you right away.

Lucanis: Illario… what happened?

Illario: What do you mean?

Lucanis: Caterina. How…? How did the Venatori get to her? When? Where? In the estate? In the city? How did they get past our people? What did they use? Poison? Blades? I need to know.

Illario: Cousin, stop. You can’t dwell on this. It’ll drive you mad.

Lucanis: I’m not dwelling. Zara killed the First Talon. I have to know how if I’m going to stop her.

Illario: I told you, I’m handling it.

Teia: Boys! Enough of this. We have other things to discuss.

Illario: My apologies, Andarateia. Continue without me. I’ll… get you the ashes.

Dialogue options:

5 - Affable: Are you okay, Lucanis?

Rook: How are you holding up?

Lucanis: I’ll be fine. Better, once we kill Zara Renata. It’s him I’m worried about.

Scene continues. [8]

6 - Sarcastic: That went great.

Rook: Seemed like that went well.

Lucanis: My cousin has never taken anything seriously in his whole life. I don’t know why he’d start now.

Scene continues. [8]

7 - Stoic: He’s acting strange.

Rook: Something’s going on with him. I don’t know what.

Lucanis: When he’s not on the job, my cousin always has his head in the clouds.

Scene continues. [8]

8 - Scene continues.
Return to previous tree.

Teia: Illario can be a handful, but this… the only time I’ve seen him like this was when Lucanis died. You’re worrying, aren’t you? What will people say if they hear “the Demon of Vyrantium” has a big soft heart?

Lucanis: He’s been careless at times, but never when his own life was on the line. Zara took down the First Talon. Anyone could be next. And my cousin doesn’t want to think about it.

Teia: You have a point. It’s not like Illario to ignore a knife coming at him.

Lucanis: What do you need from me for the funeral?

Teia: Come. I’ll get us some drinks, and we can make the arrangements.

The scene cuts away, and then fades back in to Lucanis, Rook, and Teia talking.

Lucanis: Our house owes you for handling all of this.

Teia: Caterina was family. Can you imagine what she’d say if she saw us all like this?

Lucanis: She’d be furious. Especially at Illario. As usual.

Dialogue options:

10 - Affable: Not you?

Rook: How did you stay on her good side?

Lucanis: (Laughs) What good side?

Teia: To hear Caterina tell it, Lucanis can do no wrong.

Lucanis: It’s easy to look good standing next to my cousin.

Scene continues. [12]

10 - Sarcastic: I can imagine why.

Rook: I barely know your cousin, and he already seems like trouble to me.

Lucanis: Oh, he is. I’ve lost count of the times I’ve had to pull him out of the fire on the job.

Teia: He’s a good assassin. Most jobs don’t have as many fires as yours do.

Scene continues. [12]

11 - Stoic: She was smart.

Rook: She was a smart lady.

Teia: She was the best. Of all the Talons, Caterina was the sharpest.

Lucanis: Which makes it even harder to believe this could happen. Nobody could catch her unaware. And now Illario’s got his head in the clouds.

Scene continues. [12]

12 - Scene continues.
Return to previous tree.

Teia: I’ll have my people keep an eye on him for you.

Lucanis: Thank you, Teia.

Teia: Go on. I’ll let you know if something comes up.
