Dragon Class

Back to Taash Directory

Rook finds Taash in their room.

Taash: Hey. Glad you stopped by. I was gonna grab drinks with the Lords of Fortune at the Hilt.

Lord of FortuneNon-Lord of Fortune
Taash: You’re a Lord. You should come.Taash: Come along if you want. Get to know the Lords.

Rook: Sounds good.

They head to Rivain. Cutter talks to them and Isabela at the Hall of Valor.

Cutter: I saw the Hivernal flying by with my own eyes, big as the sky and ready for the Lords to come be heroes. We take it down, and the village nearby will eat like kings and love us for it. It had bright red and blue scales. They’ll be worth a fortune, even beyond the hoard.

Taash: That’s not a Hivernal. You saw a Kaltenzahn. And she’s acting normal. She’s not one of the dragons blighted by the gods. Going after her would get us killed for no good reason.

Dialogue options:

1 - For the hoard?

Rook: The dragon might still have a lair filled with treasure, right?

Taash: Kaltenzahns hunt other dragons. They don’t make lairs.

Isabela: So no treasure? Ugh…

Taash: She’s not hurting anyone. There’s no reason to go after her.

Scene continues. [4]

2 - You’re sure of the breed?

Rook: How do you know it’s a Kaltenzahn?

Taash: Cutter said the scales were red and blue. Hivernals are dark all over.

Cutter: Scales could’ve caught the light from the sunset. It was flying awfully high.

Taash: Hivernals fly like chickens. They do little hops to pounce or clear a ravine. They don’t soar. You saw a Kaltenzahn. Fight it and you’ll be dead and frozen before it lands.

Scene continues. [4]

3 - I trust Taash.

Rook: I’m gonna have to side with the Lords of Fortune’s resident dragon expert.

Cutter: You sure you’re not just scared, Taash?

Taash: Fight it if you want. Tell us where to send your stuff after it kills you.

Scene continues. [4]

4 - Scene continues.
Return to previous tree.

Isabela: Aww, sorry Cutter. Taash gets final say. We leave the Kaltenzahn alone.

Cutter: You think I can’t fight a dragon just because I don’t breathe fire?

Taash: You can’t fight a dragon because you don’t know what you’re doing.

Cutter: Fine. You’re the expert.

Cutter leaves.

Dialogue options:

5 - Flirt: I like when you talk shop.

Rook: I guess he couldn’t handle the heat.

Isabela: Not like you can, huh?

Rook: Oh, it doesn’t bother me.

Taash: (Snorts)

Scene continues. [9]

6 - Affable: Cutter has something to prove.

Rook: I guess Cutter’s really trying to make a name for himself.

Taash: Good way to get killed.

Scene continues. [9]

7 - Sarcastic: Oof.

Rook: Well… that was awkward.

Taash: Not for me.

Scene continues. [9]

8 - Stoic: We don’t need cutter.

Rook: One less thing to worry about. If the Kaltenzahn isn’t an option, what else have you got?

Scene continues. [9]

9 - Scene continues.
Return to previous tree.

Isabela: There’s rumors of another dragon off to the west. Heard anything, Taash?

Taash: Yeah. Not sure if it’s blighted like the ones that attacked Minrathous and Treviso. But it’s killing people in villages near Arlathan Forest. They need help.

Isabela: Well, that’s glory.

Taash: It’s a fire-breather. They always have lairs with a hoard.

Isabela: And there’s gold. Tempted yet?

Rook: We might be able to spare the time for a dragon hunt.

Isabela: Can’t wait to see what you find. Now, has Taash told you about fighting a Gamordan Stormrider in the middle of a typhoon?

Taash: Best time to catch ‘em.

Isabela: Oh, it was glorious, Rook…
