Find Neve

Rook arrives in Minrathous to find the city burning.

Rook: Dragon’s circling the Andoralis Grounds! Gotta hurry!

The dragon flies past with a burst of flame.

(Dragon roars)

  • Bellara: It’s attacking!
  • Davrin: Watch out!
  • Harding: Dragon’s here!

They continue.

Rook: Oh, no. I was expecting it to be bad, but…

  • Bellara: We have to find Neve. She’ll know what to do!
  • Davrin: No time to waste. We need to find Neve.
  • Harding: Neve has to be around here somewhere. Let’s go!

They encounter some Venatori and begin to fight.

Venatori Commander: They mean to stop us! Your Lord demands death!

They fight and continue. The dragon flies past again.

(Dragon roars)

Rook: Ugh! Too close!

  • Bellara: She’s going to destroy the city if we don’t stop her!
  • Davrin: We have to stop that thing, or there won’t be a Minrathous left to save!
  • Harding: We have to stop that dragon! The city can’t take more of this!

Rook continues through the city until they find Neve and Tarquin.

Shadow Dragon RookNon-Shadow Dragon Rook
Neve: Rook. About time.

Rook: You knew I’d come?

Neve: It’s your city too.

Neve: Rook. You turned up. We could use the help.

Tarquin: The dragon’s tearing up the city, and the Venatori are taking advantage of the chaos to seize control. I’ve heard they made it all the way to the Archon’s Palace.

Neve: Forget the Venatori for now. We need to stop the dragon. We can’t fight it while it’s flying. We need to ground it. If we can keep it here, we can stop it from destroying the city.

Rook: All right. Let’s see if I can get its attention.

They head off and fight more Venatori.

Venatori Commander: Witness! Witness the handiwork of immortals!

After they defeat the Venatori, Ghilan’nain arrives, standing on the rooftops.

Ghilan’nain: Chaos. Decay. The past in ruin. And the last few mortal servants of the Dread Wolf.

Rook: Ghilan’nain!

Ghilan’nain: We need only one thing from you. Surrender it, and you may go. Give up the Dread Wolf’s dagger.

Rook: Come get it.

Ghilan’nain: By force, then. Whatever remains of you will become my new creations.

The dragon flies up behind her and swoops down to fight.

Tarquin: It’s covered with blight, Rook! The gods corrupted the thing!

Grey Warden RookNon-Grey Warden Rook
Rook: She’s blighted! And the blight feels really weird—the gods corrupted her!
  • Davrin: I feel it, too! We didn’t plan on her being blighted—how should we handle this?
  • Neve: Blight! That’s unexpected. What should we do?
  • Bellara: We didn’t expect a blighted dragon! What do we do now?
  • Davrin: She’s blighted! There’s a strange feeling to it—the gods corrupted her!
Neve: Blight! That’s unexpected. What should we do?
  • Harding: We weren’t expecting blight! Now what do we do?

Rook: What we came to do!

They fight, bringing the dragon to low health.

Ghilan’nain: We have toyed with these mortals long enough. Your strength is needed elsewhere. Hear my voice and return.

The dragon leaves.

Neve: It’s gone. But it’s wounded.

Dialogue options:
  • Affable: It’ll come back stronger. Rook: Ghilan’nain will heal it. Then it’ll come back stronger.

  • Stoic: We know we can beat it. Rook: We were so close. I know we can beat that thing. If only we were faster. Or figured out its weaknesses a little quicker.

Their companion joins them.

  • Bellara: And maybe keeping it on the ground would give us more time?
  • Davrin: And we have to keep it grounded.
  • Harding: Or able to keep it grounded.

Neve: Take the win. Dragon’s still out there, but it could’ve been worse. It would have been worse if you weren’t here.

  • Bellara: What about Treviso? There’s a dragon there, right? (Gasps) We might make it in time!
  • Davrin: There’s another dragon in Treviso. Maybe there’s still time.
  • Harding: The dragon in Treviso. We could still help.

Rook: Let’s go. Hold on, Lucanis. We’re on our way.

A City Blighted

Rook makes it Treviso at last, and the city is covered in blight. They find Lucanis sitting on a nearby bench.

Rook: We chased away the dragon in Minrathous. Did you kill the one—

Lucanis: We did not.

Viago walks up.

Viago: That monster flew around the city for hours before it left. Utterly out of reach.

Lucanis: It rained ice on the city and spread blight in the canals.

Origin dependent dialogue:

Viago: And while this was happening? You chase a dragon out of Tevinter instead of the one attacking your own city.

Lucanis: These are our people, Rook. I returned to find them suffering under the Antaam, and now? They rampage in the aftermath while blight chokes our city. Tell me you don’t want blood for this!

Dialogue options:

1 - Sad: I’m sorry.

Rook: Viago, Lucanis, I… I’m so—

Lucanis: Don’t, Rook. Just don’t. We’ll be lucky if the blight doesn’t spread.

Scene continues. [4]

2 - Afraid: How… how bad is it?

Rook: The city. Is it… how bad is the damage?

Lucanis: You’ve seen the blight from the window? It’s worse below.

Scene continues. [4]

3 - Angry: I thought you could handle it!

Rook: You’re both Crows. Our best. I thought you and the others would handle it!

Scene continues. [4]

4 - Scene continues.
Return to previous tree.

Lucanis: You know Treviso was never built to withstand something like this!

Viago: There is a reason I keep telling you to stop and think, Rook!

Rook: So why act like one more Crow could’ve done anything?

Viago: Because you always think of something!

There’s an awkward pause, and Rook looks away.

Viago: You always do. Except this time.

Teia joins them.

Teia: Perhaps someone should have strangled these gods, long ago. But I do not care for what could have happened while this city bleeds. And I would rather have Rook’s help than not. Wouldn’t you?

Lucanis: What I want does not matter. Better to focus on what Treviso needs.

If Rook has been flirting with LucanisIf Rook has not flirted with Lucanis
Rook: Lucanis… you know I’ll do whatever I can for you.

Lucanis: No, Rook. I don’t. And I don’t have the heart for anything but helping Treviso. We… I’m done. I’ll find you when I can be spared. Don’t wait for me.

Scene ends.
Lucanis: We’ve much to do, Rook. When I can be spared, I’ll find you. Time might serve us both.

Rook: All right.

Scene ends.

Return to origin choice.
