Completed The Dragon Slayer lastCompleted Where the Dead Must Go last
Taash: The Antaam hate magic. They always talk about how much better Qunari are than everyone else. Now they worship elven gods for power? Hypocrites. But it explains why they pushed so hard into Rivain.Emmrich: …what the Venatori ultimately intended with their incursions into the Necropolis worries me. Whether or not it was directed by the gods, the timing serves them well. Chaos, I fear, is their ally.

Bellara: With this, D’Meta’s Crossing, and the blighted dragons… and everything else we’re all dealing with. Feels like we’re at war. A lot of little wars.

Dialogue options:

1 - Affable: The gods move fast.

Rook: Didn’t take the gods long to attract support from all the worst people in Thedas.

Davrin: They’re offering power to anyone who wants it. The Venatori and Antaam won’t question what that will cost.

Scene continues. [4]

2 - Sarcastic: That’s reassuring.

Rook: So instead of one giant fight, we have a lot of smaller ones. I bet that won’t make things any easier.

Davrin: The gods have made bargains with the worst people in Thedas. Offered them all power. And it’s not as though the Antaam or Venatori will care about the price.

Scene continues. [4]

3 - Stoic: So we fight back.

Rook: They want a war? We’ll damn well give them one.

Davrin: You need an army to fight a war, though. They’ve got two. The Venatori and Antaam wasted no time allying themselves with the gods. Power at any cost.

Scene continues. [4]

4 - Scene continues.
Return to previous tree.

Bellara: So how do we fight back, then?

Rook: We don’t have an army, but we do have allies. Like the Veil Jumpers.

Varric: After D’Meta’s Crossing? It’s personal for them.

Saved TrevisoSaved Minrathous
Crow Rook:

Rook: I might be back in the Crows’ good books after we saved Treviso.

Lucanis: You impressed Viago. That is quite a challenge on its own.

Non-Crow Rook:

Rook: The Crows, particularly after we helped save their city.

Lucanis: Teia and Viago know what is owed. They will make good on that debt.
Shadow Dragon Rook:

Rook: The Shadow Dragons. I should’ve earned my way back into their good graces after we saved Minrathous.

Neve: Tarquin won’t ever admit it, but he was impressed.

Non-Shadow Dragon Rook:

Rook: The Shadow Dragons, particularly after we helped save their city.

Neve: A debt the Viper will repay soon.

Harding: Also, Lady Morrigan requested a meeting. At the Cobbled Swan in Minrathous.

Rook: Could she have found some trace of the gods?

Harding: Probably. Morrigan doesn’t visit crowded taverns for fun.

Davrin: I also heard from Grey Wardens out in the Hossberg Wetlands. Antoine and Evka. Something strange is happening with the blight there. I’d bet it involves the gods.

Dialogue options:

5 - Investigate: Any specifics?

Rook: Any details on the blight in the Wetlands?

Grey Warden RookNon-Grey Warden Rook
Davrin: No. But you know how Antoine’s normally got nice, neat handwriting?

Rook: Yes?

Davrin: Could barely read his note. He’s either excited, scared, or both.
Davrin: Antoine said he didn’t write it down.

Rook: Why not?

Davrin: Either he didn’t trust someone else wouldn’t read the note, or he didn’t want us to panic.

Return to dialogue tree.

6 - Investigate: How’s the First Warden?
Grey Warden RookNon-Grey Warden Rook
Rook: The First Warden hasn’t been… thrilled with how I’m carrying out my duties.

Davrin: Tore you a new one, huh?

Rook: If we go to the Wetlands, I’m hoping the First Warden’s safely over in Weisshaupt.

Davrin: Couldn’t say. Still, you can’t get in any more trouble with the Order than you already are.

Rook: (Sighs) Yeah…
Rook: The First Warden didn’t seem impressed the last time we met.

Davrin: (Chuckles) I heard he told you to piss up a rope.

Rook: Will he be in the Wetlands?

Davrin: I don’t keep track, but he can’t stop you from asking a few questions. If we’re fast enough.

Return to dialogue tree.

7 - Good a lead as we got.

Rook: Ghilan’nain has laid low since we hurt her dragon. But the blight spreads rot wherever the gods go.

Scene continues. [8]

8 - Scene continues.
Return to previous tree.

Varric: And no one’s better at tracking blight than Wardens.

Rook: Morrigan and those Wardens feel like our best leads on finding the gods.

Taash: Are they really gods? Or just ancient mages? It’s not clear.

Saved TrevisoSaved Minrathous
Neve walks in.

Neve: They’re gods. Or the closest damn thing to them.

Rook: Neve. You’re back.

Neve: Yeah. I am.
Lucanis walks in.

Lucanis: They’re gods. In their power and wrath, at least.

Rook: Lucanis. You’re back.

Lucanis: I am.
Dialogue options:
  • Affable: Glad you’re back.
Rook: Good to have you back. This is Professor Emmrich Volkarin, our Fade expert. And Taash, our dragon hunter. They joined while you were away.
    + Lucanis/Neve Approves

  • Sarcastic: Meet… everyone.
Rook: Couple new people have joined the team since you’ve been gone. This is Professor Emmrich Volkarin. He’s our Fade expert. And Taash, our dragon hunter.
    + Harding Approves

  • Stoic: Then back to work. Rook: Good. We’re discussing our next move. Sounds like we’re headed to the Hossberg Wetlands. Oh. This is Taash, our new dragon hunter. And Professor Emmrich Volkarin, our Fade expert.

Taash: Hey.

Emmrich: Charmed.

Varric: Right. Not everyone has met.

Saved TrevisoSaved Minrathous
Neve: So you’re a dragon hunter? Minrathous could’ve used you.

Rook: What’s going on?

Neve: Back home? What isn’t? Look, you made an impossible call without enough information. I get it. It’s the corner the gods put us in. It just… might take time to shake off.

Bellara: You are back, though. Right?

Neve: Yeah, Bel. I’m back.
Lucanis: So. A dragon hunter? Treviso could have used you.

Rook: What’s happening there?

Lucanis: (Sighs) It’s just… People blame you for what happened to Treviso, Rook. But they did not have to make that choice. Knowing what the gods are capable of? There was no right call. Still, it changes things. How could it not?

Neve: But you’re back with us?

Lucanis: Yes. Here to stay.
Dialogue options:
  • Affable: I appreciate it.
Rook: Good to have you back. Whatever the circumstances. Everyone needs to be a part of this. That’s the only way we’ll win.
    + Emmrich Approves

  • Sarcastic: Thanks for coming back.
Rook: Given how things have gone, I wouldn’t blame you for staying away. So, thanks. We can’t do this without you.
    + Bellara Approves

  • Stoic: Don’t leave again.
Rook: Can I trust you to see this through? I can’t have you leaving again. I need everyone here. Whatever it takes.
    + Davrin Approves
    - Lucanis/Neve Disapproves

Saved TrevisoSaved Minrathous
Neve: After what happened to Minrathous? I’ve got even more reason to go after the gods. If anyone’s got a shot at this, it’s the people here. I’m still on the job. Count on it.Lucanis: After what they did to Treviso? I want these gods to fall. I don’t see anyone else with a better chance than you. My blade’s yours. Until the end.

Rook: Great. Let’s follow up on some leads.

Harding: I’ll let Lady Morrigan know we’re ready to meet.

Davrin: I’ll send word to Antoine and Evka. They’re holed up in a town called Lavendel.

Rook: Everyone else should rest up. Be ready to move when I call.

Varric: Never easy, is it, kid?

Rook: What do you mean?

Varric: Making the big choices. Then living with the consequences.

Dialogue options:

9 - Sarcastic: I haven’t had much training.

Rook: Feels like “stopping two gods” isn’t the kind of thing that should get handed to a fresh leader. Though someone needs to be in charge, right? Everyone’s looking to me for answers. I have to be ready to give them. Even when I’m not certain.

Varric: And that’s why I recruited you, Rook. I knew you could fill my shoes.

Scene continues. [12]

10 - Stoic: Someone has to.

Rook: If I don’t make the tough decisions, no one else will. So I live with the consequences.

Varric: And you don’t blame anyone else for them. That’s why I recruited you.

Scene continues. [12]

11 - Sad: It shouldn’t be easy.

Rook: I don’t think it ever should be easy. As soon as it gets easy, you’re not the right person to make those decisions. It needs to be hard. That’s how you know you’re taking it seriously.

Varric: And that’s why I recruited you, Rook. You get that. Not everyone does.

Scene continues. [12]

12 - Scene continues.
Return to previous tree.

Varric: Anyway, you’ve got a meeting with Morrigan to attend. And dealing with whatever the Wardens found. All this chatting has taken it out of me. Think I’ll rest for a bit. Good work, Rook. You’ll find your way through this. I know it.
