Adan
If spoken to before the PC goes to the chantry: Adan: I believe Lady Cassandra wanted to speak with you.
—
Adan: Look who’s back from the dead. Again.
Adan (Qunari PC): I shouldn’t be surprised. You oxmen are tough as old leather.
1 - Dialogue options:
- Investigate: We’ve met? [2]
- General: Thank you. [3]
- General: I’ve had better days. [4]
- General: We’re not done yet. [5]
2 - Investigate: We’ve met? PC: I don’t recall meeting you before. Adan: I’d be surprised if you did. You weren’t particularly coherent. Someone had to patch you up after you staggered out of Maker-knows-where, though, so you’re welcome. [back to 1]
3 - General: Thank you. PC (previously investigated): I didn’t realize. Thank you. PC: My thanks for any part you played in that. Adan: Yeah, well. You can pay me back by fixing the world. [6]
4 - General: I’ve had better days. PC: It has been a rough few days. Adan: That’s an understatement. And more ahead if the “weather” is any indication. [6]
5 - General: We’re not done yet. PC: Until the Breach is closed, no one’s safe. Adan: True. I’ll keep the bandages handy. [6]
6 - Scene continues.
Adan: Name’s Adan. I’m in charge of keeping our little band stocked with potions and elixirs. Not that Seeker Pentaghast seems to care whether we’ve got the supplies to actually do that.
—
Speaking to again after the first encounter:
Adan: You’re back. And in one piece.
7 - Dialogue options:
- Investigate: You’re a bit cranky. [8]
- Investigate: How are things? [9]
- General: Need any help? [10]
- General: How do I order potions? [11]
- General: [Give Taigen’s notes.] [12]
- General: Goodbye. [13]
8 - General: You’re a bit cranky. PC: For a healer, you don’t seem particularly nurturing. Adan: I’m not a healer, I’m an alchemist who’s forced to play mother hen. You want something to burst into flame on contact with the air? Done. Gladly. Patching up wounded soldiers is a waste of my time and my talents… but there are few around who can help. [back to 7]
9 - General: How are things? PC: How are your people holding up?
Adan (first time asking, Giselle not met): No one’s declared me a heretic recently, so I won’t complain. [back to 7]
Adan (After meeting Giselle): We’ve got mother Giselle lending a hand now, which helps. For the ones that need comforting more than actual healing, she’s a rock in fast water. Something to cling to. [back to 7]
Adan: There’s no shortage of work, that’s for damn sure. [back to 7]
10 - General: Need any help? PC: Is there anything I can do to help out? Adan: We’re fine as far as raw labor goes. You’ve more important things to do than tend to me. I only wish I’d been able to find Master Taigan’s notes. Old bastard was working on something special. He died at the conclave, and his notes weren’t here. Been too busy dealing with the wounded to look for them. [back to 7]
11- Investigate: How do I order potions? PC: How do I go about having potions made? Adan: Just take a look there and tell me what you’d like. Find a recipe for something better, I can make that too. Scene ends.
12 - General: [Give Taigen’s notes.] PC (did not ask about helping): I found notes by a Master Taigen. I wondered if you might be interested. PC (previously asked about helping): You said you thought Master Taigen was working on something special. If it helps, I found his notes.
Adan: Let me have a look. This should… oh, I see! With a distillate of… Ha! The old codger was on the edge of a breakthrough here, but he couldn’t see it. You want some of these mixed up, you just give the word. [back to 7]
13 - General: Goodbye. PC: Farewell. Adan: Right, then.
Flissa
If spoken to before the PC goes to the chantry: Flissa: Oh, um, I think Seeker Pentaghast was looking for you.
—
Flissa: Oh, Maker, you’re [them]. You’re the Herald of Andraste.
Flissa (Qunari PC): And you were sent to test us, to see whether we would accept a Qunari as Andraste’s chosen. I think everyone is worthy of love, the Maker just makes some of us larger and… greyer… than others, and… Flissa (Dalish PC): And you were sent here to shame us for mistreating the elves. I pay my elves good and proper, you shoudl know. Friend of the alienage, and all, and… Flissa (dwarf PC): And you were sent us to remind us that we failed to support the dwarves when the darkspawn attacked. I think dwarves are very respectable, and I’ve always liked… stone, and… Flissa (mage PC): And you were sent to show us we were wrong to be afraid of the mages. I have always respected magic! I think the Maker blessed your rebellion, and… Flissa (non-mage human PC): She sent you to us to show the world her love, and I am ready for that love. Well, I’m not ready for that kind of love, that is. Unless that’s what you want, but…
Flissa: I mean, I’m Flissa. Can I get you a drink?
Dialogue options:
- General (Qunari PC): Qunari must make you nervous. [1]
- General (Dalish PC): I’m actually Dalish. [2]
- General (dwarf PC): I don’t love the Stone. [3]
- General (mage PC): You don’t need to fear magic. [4]
- General (non-mage human PC): “Unless that’s what I want”? [5]
- General (claimed not-chosen): I’m not the Herald. [6]
- General (claimed chosen): The Maker sent me to help. [7]
- General: Relax, Flissa. [8]
1 - General: Qunari must make you nervous. PC: You haven’t met many Qunari before, have you. Flissa: Ah, no. You’d be the first. [9]
2 - General: I’m actually Dalish. PC: I’m not from an alienage. I’m Dalish. Flissa: Oh, right, of course, because of the… things on your face, yes. [9]
3 - General: I don’t love the Stone. PC: The dwarves that revere the Stone live down in Orzammar. Up here, we’re mostly traders. Flissa: Right, yes, of course. I didn’t mean to imply that all dwarves were the same. [9]
4 - General: You don’t need to fear magic. PC: Magic can be dangerous, but it’s just a tool, like any other. Flissa: Yes, exactly. I’ve always said that. Like a hammer, or a sword… that tears open the sky. [9]
5 - General: “Unless that’s what I want”? PC: What did you mean by “that kind of love”? Flissa: Nothing! I didn’t mean anything. What did you mean? [9]
6 - General: I’m not the Herald. PC: I’m not the Herald of Andraste, and the Maker didn’t send me. Flissa: Is this a test? I heard there might be tests of faith. It’s all right. Don’t say anything. [9]
7 - General: The Maker sent me to help. PC: I’m here with the Maker’s blessing, and I’ll do whatever I can to help. Flissa: I knew it! You let me know what you need and I… but what could you need from me? Oh, I’m rambling. [9]
8 - General: Relax, Flissa. PC: It’s all right, Flissa. I won’t do anything frightening. Flissa: If you wanted to close the Breach, I wouldn’t mind. [9]
9 - Scene continues.
Flissa: As I said, I’m Flissa. The Inquisition soldiers needed a place to unwind, so Leliana brought me in to set up a tavern. Nothing fancy, but it’s safer for the soldiers than looking for trouble in some village.
—
Speaking to again after the first encounter:
Flissa: Can I get you anything?
10 - Dialogue options:
- General: How do you know Leliana? [11]
- General: What can I find in Haven? [12]
- General: Goodbye. [13]
11 - General: How do you know Leliana? PC: You said Leliana asked you to run an Inquisition tavern. How did you meet? Flissa: Dumb luck, mainly. I managed an Inn back in Denerim. When I heard interesting gossip, I’d pass word to Leliana. Sometimes it was helpful. She asked if I wanted to own my own tavern, and I said yes. I didn’t realize she meant this. [back to 11]
12 - General: What can I find in Haven? PC: What can you tell me about this area? Flissa: Adan is Haven’s apothecary. He’s been making potions an tending to the wounded as best he can. Harritt is the Inquisition’s smith. Whatever he can’t make you, Threnn the quartermaster can probably find. And for anything fancier, you can try buying from Seggrit. His prices aren’t to high… yet. Oh, there’s also Minaeve. She studies beasts and things, as I understand. [back to 11]
13 - General: Goodbye. PC: Farewell. Flissa: Goodbye!
Harritt
If spoken to before the PC goes to the chantry:
Harritt: Up on your feet are you? Good. I hear Seeker Cassandra is looking for you.
Harritt: Can’t talk now, sorry.
—
Harritt: Expected you’d be by. I’m Harritt… and everyone knows who you are. How’s the new gear fit?
Dialogue options:
- General: Quite well. [1]
- General: Odd. [2]
- General: I’ll survive. [3]
1 - General: Quite well. PC: Sturdy and warm. It’s perfect. Harritt: Good.
2 -General: Odd. PC: It’s not exactly what I’m used to. Harritt (human non-mage male PC): Too used to sparkly dress armors, your lordship? Harritt (human non-mage female PC): Expecting more curly bits, Lady Trevelyan? Harritt (non-human/human mage PC): Hmph. Wrong time for style to dictate what you wear.
3 - General: I’ll survive. PC: It doesn’t really matter, in the long run. Harritt: ‘Course it does.
4 - Scene continues.
Harritt: World’s gone mad. Stock armor and blades are good against bandits, but we’re not fighting bandits. My gear will see you through demons, apostates, whatever this world throws at you. So, you need custom work? Something special? You bring the materials to us, we’ll make it happen.
—
Speaking to again after the first encounter:
Harritt: (Grunts.)
5 - Dialogue options:
- Investigate: What’s your story? [6]
- Investigate: Do you outfit the troops? [7]
- Investigate: Why do you need my materials? [8]
- Investigate: What can you make here? [9]
- General: Can you improve my equipment? [10]
- General: Do you have any designs? [11]
- General: Goodbye. [12]
6 - Investigate: What’s your story? PC: How did you come to be here? Harritt: Come from a little town called Lothering. Long gone now. I was in Redcliffe when the darkspawn hit it during the Blight. Helped rebuild. Left when royalty decided it was time to hand the place over to the bloody mages.
Harritt (mage Hero of Ferelden): Then again, fair’s fair. It was one of them that stopped the Blight and all.
Harritt: Ended up here. Just missed the boom. Can’t decide if I’m the luckiest son of a bitch walking, or the exact opposite.
Dialogue options:
- General: Lucky. [13]
- General: Worrisome. [14]
- General: Cursed. [15]
13 - General: Lucky. PC: You’re still walking. That’s always good. Harritt: True enough. [back to 5] ㅤㅤ ㅤ 14 - General: Worrisome. PC: Whichever you are, I hope the streak is broken. Harritt: A man can dream. [back to 5] ㅤㅤ ㅤ 15 - General: Cursed. PC: Sounds like someone has it in for you. Harritt: Don’t I know it. [back to 5]
Harritt (asked before): Long story. Not worth telling twice. [back to 5]
7 - Investigate: Do you outfit the troops? PC: Who outfits the Inquisition’s soldiers? Harritt: Not me. I’ve got work to do. Can’t be passing a sword to every blighter who signs up. If you want to help the troops, talk to Threnn, the quartermaster. She’ll set up requisitions. [back to 5]
8 - Investigate: Why do you need my materials? PC: Does the Inquisition not have supplies to make armor or weapons? Harritt: Tough convincing traders to haul up here. Impossible to get them to risk the rare stuff, so that’s on you. [back to 5]
9 - Investigate: What can you make here? PC: What can you and your team make here? Harritt: Arms and armor. We work iron to blighted dragonbone, if you’ve got it. Our designs are simple, but they get the job done. You want something fancy, bring your own design. We’ll see what we can do. [back to 5]
10 - General: Can you improve my equipment? PC: Can you help improve my arms and armor? Harritt: Yes. You find a new piece, a pauldron or greaves, we’ll take care of you. You can’t just slap a new hilt on your sword in the field. Bring it here, we’ll make sure it’s done right and proper. [back to 5]
11 - General: Do you have any designs? PC: If I want something, what can you make? Harritt: Start simple. Something to keep you safe. Take a look it on the table there, and we can talk. You’ll need materials. We should have what you want just outside. [back to 5]
12 - General: Goodbye. PC: Goodbye. Harritt: Right.
Lysette
The PC overhears two templars srguing on the edge of camp.
Mattrin: See reason, Lysette. We cannot stay here.
Lysette: Why not?
Mattrin: Because we’re templars!
Lysette: What does that even mean anymore? That we splinter and fight amongst ourselves instead of protecting the mages? Lysette (if the PC has been to Val Royeaux): That we declare our independence and march off to some hold and do… nothing?
Mattrin: Better that than stay here with this “Inquisition.”
Lysette: You’re awfully quick to dismiss the people who saved your life, Mattrin.
The PC appraoches.
Lysette: You’re the one they’re calling the Herald.
Dialogue options:
- General: Yes I am. [1]
- General: Is that a problem? [2]
- General: Against my will. [3]
1 - General: Yes I am. PC: It rather rolls of the tongue, doesn’t it? Lysette: No.
2 - General: Is that a problem? PC: You don’t sound happy about that. Lysette: I’m not. Lysette (Qunari PC): Your people have stood against everything the Chantry believes for years. Lysette (mage PC): You are a mage, and magic was meant to serve man, not rule him. Yet here you are, testing that core tenet of the Chantry. Lysette (dwarf PC): Your people believe in the Stone and have never been friendly to the Chantry.
3 - General: Against my will. PC: If you know a way to make them stop, I’m all ears. Lysette: I don’t. These things have a way of taking their own life, but I’m glad it has not run to your head.
4 - Scene continues.
Lysette: I did not join the Order to adjust my faith so easily, but I appreciate what the Inquisition is trying to do, and your role in it. Thought you may not find many templars do. We’re a distrustful lot by nature.
—
Speaking to again after the first encounter:
Lysette: Yes?
Lysette (after Val Royeaux): I’ve heard about Val Royeaux. This is… this is not right. I will not be joining them. At least the Inquisition does not stand directly opposed to the Chantry.
Lysette (after CotJ): Commander Cullen took me aside to explain what happened at the redoubt. Disturbing news, but I’m glad you were there to intervene. Thank you.
Lysette (after IHW): Word is that the mages will be joining us here in Haven. I hope you’ve chosen your allies wisely, Herald.
5 - Dialogue options:
- Investigate: Tell me about the templars. [6]
- Investigate: You’re staying here in Haven? [7]
- Investigate: What happened at the Conclave? [8]
- Investigate (after Val Royueaux): Joining the Order. [9]
- General: Goodbye. [10]
6 - Investigate: Tell me about the templars. PC: I’d like your take on the Templar Order. Lysette: It’s a shadow of what it was. Where once we both protected all people from the dangers of magic, we now posture and grab at power. One day, I hope the Circles are again sanctuaries where mages can practice their craft. [back to 5]
7 - Investigate: You’re staying here in Haven? PC: You’re not going to rejoin the Order? Lysette: When the temple went up, your forces rescued the few of us still alive. My life ia debt I intend to repay, however I can. [back to 5]
8 - Investigate: What happened at the Conclave? PC: Do you have any idea what caused the explosion? Lysette: No, I’m just a recruit. Belief and faith doesn’t get you closer to the important meetings. Though that distance did save my life. [back to 5]
9 - Investigate: Joining the Order. PC: How did you come to be a templar? Lysette: It seemed the right thing to do. My family are tradesfolk in Denerim. I could have become a cobbler like my father, but this seemed better. It’s a chance to uphold the Chantry’s laws and help the mages through a troubled time.
Dialogue options:
- General (mage PC): Help us? [11]
- General: You’re an idealist. [12]
- General: Templars don’t help anything. [13]
11 - General: Help us? PC: I’m surprised to hear that. Lysette: Not all templars want to make mages into prisoners or villains. Some of us just want to keep a balance and let you practice your craft in safety. [back to 5] ㅤㅤ ㅤ 12 - General: You’re an idealist. PC: Not every templar feels that way. Lysette: I know. Power can corrupt. It’s a delicate balance. [back to 5] ㅤㅤ ㅤ 13 - General: Templars don’t help anything. PC: How can you see templars as anything but oppressors? Lysette: Some people would ask how I could see mages as anything but unstable weapons. What you forget, when you ask that question, is that are people. As perfect as they are flawed. One person trying to do something can make a difference, You should keep that in mind, Herald. [back to 5]
Lysette (asked before): We’ll see how right I am in time. [back to 5]
10 - General: Goodbye. PC: I will talk to you later. Lysette: Walk in the Maker’s grace.
Minaeve
If spoken to before the PC goes to the chantry: Minaeve: I believe Seeker Pentaghast was looking for you.
—
Minaeve: You’re the Herald. Or, well, the one they’re calling the Herald, anyway.
Minaeve (non-mage PC): I hope the Inquisition can restore order soon. I never really wanted to leave the Circle. Minaeve (mage PC): It’s odd to see them accepting a mage as their hero.
Minaeve (human mage PC): First we’re too dangerous to let out of the Circles, and then we’re apostate rebels… but they seem to like you. Minaeve (Dalish mage PC): Especially a Dalish elf. One look at your face, and it’s clear you were never part of a Circle. Minaeve (Qunari mage PC): It must be easier because you’re not human. They already see you as different from us who lived in the Circle.
Minaeve: My name is Minaeve. I research demons and other creatures. Seeker Pentaghast and I use what I find to help the soldiers fight them.
—
Speaking to again after the first encounter: Minaeve: Hello. Can I help you with something?
Minaeve (after turning in creature research:): you’ve brought back some fascinating things. We’re putting them to good use.
1 - Dialogue options:
- General: So you’re a mage? [2]
- General: You research creatures? [3]
- Special (after finding research material): I found something for you. [4]
- General: Goodbye. [5]
2 - General: So you’re a mage? PC: You said you were a mage? Minaeve: No, just an apprentice.
Minaeve (human mage PC): was a year or so from my Harrowing, at least. The enchanters were being kind. Minaeve (Dalish/Qunari PC): Circle mages must prove themselves in a ritual called the Harrowing.
Minaeve: I was never very good at magic. I’ve got just enough talent to be a danger to other people. When the mages rebelled, people like me had nowhere to go. The templars would have killed us. Luckily, Seeker Pentaghast took me in, along with the Tranquil I was protecting.
Dialogue options:
- Investigate: You didn’t join the rebels? [6]
- Investigate: You protected the tranquil? [7]
- [Back to 1]
6 - Investigate: You didn’t join the rebels? PC: I’m surprised that even an apprentice mage wouldn’t join the rebellion. Minaeve: I don’t like using magic to fight. I’m not good at it, either. I liked studying. I liked performing rituals that helped us unlock the secrets of the Veil. I liked having the templars around to keep us safe.
Dialogue options:
- General: You’re in the minority. [8]
- General (mage PC): But now they’ve gone mad. [9]
- General: I agree. [10]
- General: I don’t trust mages. [11]
- Dalish: A pity you aren’t Dalish. [12]
- Arcane: Were you raised Dalish? [13]
8 - General: You’re in the minority. PC (mage PC): The templars made me feel a lot of things, but never safe. PC (non-mage PC): Most Circle mages I’ve met have a different opinion of the templars. Minaeve: You have not lived my life. I was born into a Dalish clan. I lived there until my magic manifested. The Dalish cannot risk having too many mages in one clan, and I was one more than they could bear. [14] ㅤㅤ ㅤ 9 - General: But now they’ve gone mad. PC: A pity the templars now want to see us all dead or made Tranquil. Minaeve: The problem is not that there are angry people on both sides: the problem is other people listening to their anger. I was born into a Dalish clan. I lived there until my magic manifested. The Dalish cannot risk having too many mages in one clan, and I was one more than they could bear. [14] ㅤㅤ ㅤ 10 - General: I agree. PC: Mages need protection. I wish more of them could see that. Minaeve: I was born into a Dalish clan. I lived there until my magic manifested. The Dalish cannot risk having too many mages in one clan, and I was one more than they could bear. [14] ㅤㅤ ㅤ 11 - General: I don’t trust mages. PC: I’ve never felt comfortable around magic. It’s hard to trust anyone with that sort of power. Minaeve: It’s hard to trust anyone with any sort of power. But I didn’t ask for this. I was born into a Dalish clan. I lived there until my magic manifested. The Dalish cannot risk having too many mages in one clan, and I was one more than they could bear. [14] ㅤㅤ ㅤ 12 - Dalish: A pity you aren’t Dalish. PC: You might have done well among the Dalish. Our mages are encouraged to study safely. Minaeve: Fen’Harel take the Dalish. Don’t let my lack of vallaslin fool you, lethallin. I was a proud member of my clan until my magic manifested. You know what happens when they have too many mages. [14] ㅤㅤ ㅤ 13 - Arcane: Were you raised Dalish? PC: Something in your accent… you were raised by the Dalish, weren’t you? Minaeve: Andaran atish’an. The lack of vallaslin cause most to miss it. I was a proud member of my clan until my magic manifested. You know what happens when they have too many mages. [14]
14 - Scene continues.
Minaeve: They gave me a pack and sent me into the woods to find my own life. I was seven years old.
Dialogue option:
- General: That’s awful. PC: I’m so sorry. ㅤㅤ ㅤ
- General: That explains a lot. PC: No wonder you’d rather stay in the Circle; you had more than enough life outdoors. ㅤㅤ ㅤ
- General (Dalish PC): My clan found other ways. PC: My clan never did that. We sent those gifted with magic to other clans, or… ㅤㅤ ㅤ
- General: They’re monsters. PC: That’s sickening.
Minaeve: I stumbled into a village, starving and cold, a few weeks later. I’d started using magic to scare predators away. The villagers saw me make fire in my fist. They were terrified and wanted to kill me. Templars saved me from them. They gave me food and clothes, and took me to the Circle. I’ve seen what life is like without the templars, and I want no part of it. I just want to study. [back to 1]
7 - Investigate: You protected the tranquil? PC: You said that you were keeping some of the Tranquil safe? Minaeve: Yes. The mages took some of them when my Circle rebelled, but the rest were forgotten.
Minaeve (human mage PC): You know how Circle mages saw the Tranquil. They’re just there to enchant items and keep the floors clean. Minaeve (Dalish/dwarf/Qunari/non-mage human PC): Most Circle mages look down on the Tranquil, or try to pretend they don’t exist.
Minaeve: They don’t have any emotions. They can barely take care of themselves, can’t defend themselves at all… It’s a shame. I like them better than most people.
Dialogue options:
- General: They’re lucky to have you. [15]
- General: That’s… interesting. [16]
- General: Why? [17]
15 - General: They’re lucky to have you. PC: I’m glad they have someone who cares about them. Minaeve: They deserve better. They’re polite, they’re rational, and they’ll never get angry at you. [18]
16 - General: That’s… interesting. PC: That’s an unusual statement. Minaeve: They’re polite. They don’t bother you if they don’t need something. [18]
17 - General: Why? PC: Why would you want to spend time with the Tranquil? Minaeve: They’re polite. They don’t bother you if they don’t need something. [18]
18 - Scene continues.
Minaeve: When they study, they have a focus no normal person could ever match. But the templars, even some of the mages, mistreated them just because they could. The Tranquil never fought back. If not for that, I’d… I don’t know. Doesn’t really matter now. [back to 1]
3 - General: You research creatures? PC: You said Cassandra has you researching creatures? Minaeve: Yes. If you find anything interesting in your travels, I’d appreciate you bringing it to me. Minaeve: I may be able to find some weakness our soldiers can exploit when fighting various creatures. Minaeve: In the least, some materials are useful for making potions or gear for the Inquisition.
Dialogue options:
- Investigate: Why study creatures? [19]
- [Back to 1]
19 - Investigate: Why study creatures? PC: Why did you decide to research dangerous creatures? Minaeve: I liked the outdoors. The idea of the outdoors, anyway. Minaeve: When some monster is coming at you, glowing eyes and burning claws, it’s terrifying. Minaeve: But once you know how it works, you can deal with it. It’s just another part of the world. Minaeve: So much of this world is only frightening because we don’t understand it. [back to 1]
4 - Special: I found something for you. PC: I found something the demons left behind. Can you use it? Minaeve: Yes, that’s very helpful. Just leave it there, and the Tranquil and I will examine it.
5 - General: Goodbye. PC: I’ll speak with you later. Minaeve: Travel safely. Minaeve (after turning in research): Thank you again for what you’ve brought back.
Seggrit
If spoken to before the PC goes to the chantry: I believe Seeker Cassandra would like to speak with you.
—
Seggrit: Ah, you’re awake and out of Lady Cassandra’s clutches.
Seggrit (Dalish PC): And I slipped that… ah… young elven lass… good coin to tell me when you came back to us. Seggrit (human/dwarf/Qunari PC): And here I paid that little knife-ear to inform me the moment you were free.
Seggrit: No matter, no matter. Seggrit, honored to meet you. Thank you for all you’ve done, and hopefully, will still do.
Dialogue options:
- Investigate: Such as? [1]
- General: I appreciate that. [2]
- General: Like make you a profit. [3]
- General: We’ll see. [4]
1 - Investigate: Such as? PC: What do you think I’ll be doing, exactly? Seggrit: Word’s already spreading that if anyone can close that blighted thing in the sky, it’s you. [5]
2 - General: I appreciate that. PC: Thank you for your kind words. Seggrit: Easily given. Our fate is quite literally in your hands, from what I hear. [5]
3 - General: Like make you a profit. PC: Ideally while wearing and wielding gear purchased here, yes? Seggrit: Precisely! [5]
4 - General: We’ll see. PC: One person can’t solve all problems. Seggrit: Not with that attitude, at least. [5]
5 - Scene continues.
Seggrit: Anything you need is yours. For a reasonable price of course. Supplies are a little tight given the circumstances.
—
Speaking to again after the first encounter:
Seggrit (first time): Good day! Or, as good as it can be with the sky ripped apart.
Seggrit: Greetings.
6 - Dialogue options:
- Investigate: Why have you stayed? [7]
- Investigate: How is the mood here? [8]
- General: I’d like to buy something. [9]
- General: Goodbye. [10]
7 - Investigate: Why have you stayed? PC: What kind of person stays to run a shop at a time like this? Seggrit: The kind with nowhere else to go. Those blasted demons destroyed most of my goods. If I stay here, work some contacts, I can start rebuilding—and maybe, just maybe, help you folks out in the process. [back to 6]
Seggrit (if asked again): As I said: in for a copper, in for a sovereign. Or hopefully several. [back to 6]
8 - Investigate: How is the mood here? PC: You must speak with everyone here: how are people doing?
Seggrit: Hope and fear in equal measure. No one really knows what it means when an Inquisition is called. Yet.
Seggrit (Qunari PC): Of course, we’re all getting used to, well, you as our last, best hope. Nothing personal. [back to 6] Seggrit (dwarf PC): And everyone’s sort of digesting the idea of a dwarf maybe, possibly, being sent by Andraste herself. It’s, uh, not what anyone was expecting. Yourself included, I wager. [back to 6] Seggrit (human/Dalish PC): I imagine it’s no better for you. You’ve got my sympathies, for what it’s worth. [back to 6]
9 - General: I’d like to buy something. PC: Can I see what you have for sale? Seggrit: Of course. My wares are at the table. Scene ends.
10 - General: Goodbye. PC: Until later. Seggrit: Stay safe.
Threnn
If spoken to before the PC goes to the chantry:
Threnn: Not taking orders right now. Got a problem with it, bring it up with Cassandra.
—
Threnn (Qunari PC): I didn’t realize any of Leliana’s oxmen mercenaries were still here. Well, if you want new gear, you pay for it. Threnn (dwarf PC): If you’ve got lyrium to sell, Commander Cullen is handling all purchases. Threnn (Dalish PC): If you’re here to clean, Hess can get you a bucket and a broom. Anyone calls you “knife-ear,” you come to me. Threnn (human mage PC): Any Circle mage wanting to join needs to speak with Cullen or Cassandra. Apostates, too, I suppose. Threnn (human non-mage PC): No, my [lord/lady], I don’t know where the other nobles are. I suggest you ask Ambassador Montilyet.
Threnn: Oh. You’re [them]. Threnn, Inquisition quartermaster. I’m doing what I can to supply this mess. If you find what I need to fill one of my requisitions, I’d appreciate you bringing it in.
—
Speaking to again after the first encounter:
Threnn: Can I help you with something?
Threnn (after filling her requisition): Nice work with those supplies. The smiths can use them to fit our troops with better gear. Might not affect you much, but our recruits will have better chances next time some monster flies out of a rift.
1 - Dialogue options:
- Investigate: What is your job? [2]
- Investigate: How did you end up here? [3]
- General: Tell me about requisitions. [4]
- General: How do I fill special orders? [5]
- General: Goodbye. [6]
2 - Investigate: What is your job? PC: What do you do here? Threnn: I make sure the Inquisition troops have food in their bellies and iron in their hands. Both are important. Lot of people expecting us to be heroes, marching all day to fight the demons. Turns out heroes need to dig latrines just like everyone else. [back to 1]
3 - Investigate: How did you end up here? PC: How does someone end up as quartermaster for the Inquisition? Threnn: I served Ferelden under Teyrn Loghain Mac Tir. Best commanding officer this world has ever seen. After they all turned on him at Denerim, though, there wasn’t much use for people who held that opinion.
Threnn (Alistair rules alone): King Alistair offered my services to the Inquisition, probably to get rid of me. Threnn (Anora rules): Queen Anora offered my services to the Inquisition. It was a kindness; she knew I supported her father and got me away from the political garbage.
7 - Dialogue options:
- Investigate (Loghain made a Warden): Loghain is a Grey Warden now. [8]
- General: I’m glad you believe in him. [9]
- General: No wonder you’re unpopular. [10]
- General: Loghain is a traitor. [11]
8 - Investigate: Loghain is a Grey Warden now. PC: I understand Loghain joined the Grey Wardens after the Blight ended. Threnn: Yes. “A mercy,” people called it, serving the Order they say he betrayed. He could have led Ferelden to greatness. Instead, he lives in exile, fighting darkspawn until the day he dies. [back to 7] ㅤㅤ ㅤ 9 - General: I’m glad you believe in him. PC: Your loyalty to the man you served is admirable, quartermaster. Threnn: Thank you. A lot of people seem to think they know what happened as Ostagar… but I was there. Teyrn Loghain never betrayed his king. If he’d brought the reinforcements, darkspawn would have just killed everyone. He did what he had to do to save our country… and we betrayed him. ㅤㅤ ㅤ 10 - General: No wonder you’re unpopular. PC: With that attitude, I can’t imagine how you made enemies in Denerim. Threnn: People just don’t want to hear the truth. I was at Ostagar, and I know what really happened. King Cailan overextended his position, and the Grey Wardens were too late lighting the signal. Following the original plan would have gotten everyone killed! Teyrn Loghain made the right decision. ㅤㅤ ㅤ 11 - General: Loghain is a traitor. PC: Loghain Mac Tir betrayed the Grey Wardens and his king. Threnn: Were you there at Ostagar? I was. King Cailan overextended his position, and the Grey Wardens were too late lighting the signal. Following the original plan would have gotten everyone killed! Teyrn Loghain made the right decision.
12 - Scene continues.
Threnn: I… apologize. Sister Leliana told me I shouldn’t talk about this. Just forget it. [back to 1]
4 - General: Tell me about requisitions. PC: What did you mean when you mentioned requisitions? Threnn: I’m making this Inquisition run with what we have, but we’re not a real army. We’re stretched thin on materials, so I’ve put up requisition list for anything that could help our people. Here, take a look. You find some iron and a good logging site, maybe Harritt can get our troops better weapons. [back to 1]
5 - General: How do I fill special orders? PC: If I have material for a special order, do I bring it to you? Threnn: Just take it over there. One of my boys will take the materials or jot down what you found. [back to 1]
6 - General: Goodbye. PC: Farewell. Threnn: Maker go with you.
Horsemaster Dennet
Dennet: Feels good to be back at work, Inquisition. And lucky you have me. In lesser hands, you’d be in trouble. Haven can’t support the mounts you need. But I can.
1 - Dialogue options:
- General: How are the horses? [2]
- General: Any news? [4]
- General: Goodbye. [5]
2 - General: How are the horses? PC: How are your charges? Well supplied? Dennet: Haven is groaning under the weight. It wasn’t built for this. But we’ll make it serve. [Back to 1]
4 - General: Any news? PC: Heard anything worth noting? Dennet: Heard rumors of something stomping around out there. No idea how to track it, if “it” is even a real thing. Keep up with your researcher and your creatures, Inquisition. Who knows what you can find. [back to 1]
5 - General: Goodbye. PC: Farewell. Dennet: Maker be with you.
